I'd be amazed if Smith's fight doesn't end up on Sky. As for the rest, Groves/Cox is very likely to be on Sky with Eubank Jr's fight likely being on ITV Box Office.
Apparently the offer is you need to take all fights not cherry pick what fights you want not sure how much that will hold as money talks and if sky want Callum Smith fight / great competitive fight they will pay for it
that's a stupid idea from the wbss, i doubt any tv platform wants to/will buy rights for all the fights, they should sell each fight individually.
WBSS should just try something new. Why not stream the fights and offer it to fans with the option of paying just to see one fight? I'm assuming that the prize money is not dependent on TV deals. Whole tournament could collapse if that was the case.
Or offer it to netflix or Amazon have them stream all the fights they can do there own mini documentary's for each boxer as well.
It's going to be hard for one broadcaster to justify the time/money to screen all of this format. Given that the Sauerlands it could end up anywhere I guess.
Better be careful they don't end up with a broadcast partner in UK. Wouldn't be surprised if Premier sports go for it, hope not as every bill will cost.
They should show it online as well and offer different passes for single fights or all of the fights. Something like: Single fight: £7.95 Full tournament (7 fights): £34.95-£39.95 I'd pay 35-40 quid to watch the full tournament.
Can't see boxnation getting it as Frank has already claimed the supermiddleweights is a 2nd rate tournament
If it's not on Sky or Boxnation then it'll have to be Channel 5 or ITV. What's putting UK broadcasters off is likely the Cruiserweight tournament- fantastic on paper but no British interest. It's a big commitment to broadcast these two tournaments in their entirety.
