    marvelous move.

maloney is one of the biggest nuisances in british boxing and has disgraced himself several times throughout the years and made a few enemies as well. his brother eugene made a tosser out of himself on sky a few years back when he was caught lying live on sky about skeltons age. adam smith demanded to see skeltons passport and eugene said "i left it at home" yeah right mate.

maloney got rightly sacked by lennox lewis and then went from "lennox will destroy tyson" to "tyson will demolish lennox". not to mention his comments about danny hunt being the david beckham of boxing and saying his robbery draw vs lee meager was a fair result.

maloney is a grade A tosser. even the video he put out after the darren sutherland tragedy was a shame. it was all me me me.

to put it bluntly, i hate the little ****

good move, far too much easy fights for prospects, are they professional fighters or not

besides, what does a high level amateur gain by knocking over some bulgarian doorman? its pointless, you may as well spar some good rounds instead

Not sure its a massive step up in class, McDermott is British level fighter no higher his experience is what he has over Price not class.

Price should be ready for this type of fight.

From what Price has been facing the step up is huge.

A reasonably tough rugby player would have a winning record against the chumps he's been facing.

I could have beaten at least three of them :patsch

When Paul Edwards won the British title Frank Maloney said it was the best performance by a British boxer against a southpaw EVER.

Paul Edwards won the British title due to a cut caused by a clash of heads in the first round.

:rofl That interview always made me laugh it would be fine if he was being funny or ironic but he wasnt :-(

As regards to Price they have him on the Smith Simpson bill as a return home but I assume this is not against McDermott and they wanted somebody he can knock over in front of a home crowd. The ald does need to face a hlaf decent heavy i saw him chatting to Sprott last night at prizefighter :hey

This sounds like a good move by Sky if it's true and they stick to it.

British heavyweight boxing has a problem right now though in that we have a list of prospects (Derek Chisora, Tyson Fury, David Price, Tom Dallas, Richard Towers etc) who are all apparently 'willing to fight anyone' and yet 'no one wants to fight them'.

    Someone work that one out..

I think it's about time Sky Sports made some kind of tournament that got all these guys together to fight each other and then we can see who the real prospects are. I'm sure the likes of John McDermott and Martin Rogan would be willing to participate too so it could be well open. Sky definitely have the power and money behind them to properly get this running but seem reluctant to. Hopefully rejecting **** fights like this is a start.

He needs to step up to learn, no point in continuing to fight easy opponents, in my opinion this isnt too early and will show where Price is at.

So if "Sky" have refused this? Does that mean Adam Smith said no? Who else has the decision making power at Sky? Maloney has taken the **** recently his latest Sunderland card doesnt look great either

Price was being lined up as the first live fight on the Smith vs Simpson card. Sky rejected it as it was agaisnt a bum. He now fights of TV. Edwards vs Ahamed British title is now on the card.

Maybe they'll do the same for Jeffries? His standard (although better than Price's) hasn't been electric!!

Step in the right direction from Sky to be sure, quality control is so important. Last british cards there have been poor but this is a good sign. Id like a Price-Big John fight its interestin
