Strange considering they just had such good figures for the Brook Hatton fight

You know what - and I'm being 100% serious here:

Get Cleverly on Countdown! That's topnotch promotion. Completely new audience.

Maybe they're not doing so many cards perhaps?

Like domestic titles only as undercards for World Title fights?

Maybe Channel 5 can spring for Maloney and Hatton?

The rumour i've heard is fewer shows but bigger shows with the budget unchanged if not bigger

If it means we get more shows like Brook vs Hatton and (hopefully) Price vs Sexton then great. Lots of good fights and much less of Smith, Nelson and Piper gazing into each other's eyes.

i would rather see a bigger show every 2 weeks than a small one every week.

I wonder if the decrease in shows is a knock on effect of Big Frank's departure. Maybe they're just not going to replace those dates that would have belonged to him. There has been less shows so far this year because of that.

Thats my thoughts and I said earlier in the thread, it makes sense that as FWP fighters will no longer be fighting on SKY they no longer need that budget.

An average pundit/presenter on Sky is on about £60k a year (Nelson etc). If Sky have halved their boxing output the logical move would be for Hatton to leave for either Channel 5/ITV/ESPN.

I reckon boxing does OK but theres just only so many idiots who will stay up until 5am thats why Sky won't fork out for it.
