A little unfair given Sky have a lot more £ to work with but with this in mind -

Who put on the better fights in 2013?
Who had the better coverage in 2013?
Which set of commentators did the better job? ETC ETC

Two things to bear in mind - 1) Sky has A LOT more money BUT 2) Sky is not a dedicated Boxing channel.

Who in your opinion did the best job in 2013?

I'd say Sky as their domestic output was much better.

Tough one. I think BN have brought some excellent fights from across the world and snared the big shows. Sky have had a pretty solid year with some big nights and good fights but i'd go for BN.

I think I Shot JR is bang on about domestic content..

BoxNation. They've had by far the better fights and Sky have seen fit to reintroduce PPV.

    Sky Sports.

BoxNation was in dire trouble until Bill Ives came along.

It has to be Boxnation. They have delivered all the best International fights whilst showing domestic cards. Bn also do weekly magazine shows Buncey's boxing hour and boxing matters. I look forward to next year as they will be doing more domestic cards now that Barry McGuigan and Dennis Hobson are on board...

To be fair to Sky they have upped their game on international cards recently, but i'm not impressed with Hearn's shows at all especially of late. Hearns two biggest cards of the year were on Box-Office and that's not normal Sky. I've never been a fan of PPV, but i felt after bringing it back after a some time out he didn't put good enough cards around them to merit PPV. I also don't like they way Sky hype up their own fighters, yet they don't work with or hardly discuss any other boxers who are with other promotions. I mean Ringside is getting harder and harder to stomach these days they way they talk up their domestic cards and cover their own arses when things go wrong. And the way sky treated George Groves before, during and after his fight with Froch was a disgrace. I mean Groves on Ringside after the fight was sickening. Team sky constantly interrupted Groves when he tried to speak and they way Adam Smith and Johnny Nelson sneered and disagreed at George at every chance whilst jumping to the defence of Howard Foster and Froch was pitiful. Sky couldn't get any lower trying to protect their investment IMO.

Hearn however has got off to a decent start by getting Burns-Crawford in Glasgow and i hope he can keep it going into the rest of the year by making Froch-Groves 2 because he really needs to deliver it IMO as Sky and Matchroom are constantly telling us they are the biggest and best stable on the biggest and best platform, but the truth is they are not better than anybody else.

Boxnation was great in 2013 and provided the best fights every month so they're clear winners.

Also with Boxnation going HD in February at no extra charge and better domestic shows in 2014 it looks like they're going to be even better next year.

BN. They've got the biggest star in Boxing on their channel. Say no more!

Yet SKY charged £15 for Groves/Froch! SKY need to ditch that. It's nonsense.

Hall/Malenga was a cracking fight the other night. Broner/MMwas on there.

Matchroom have got a cracking stable, but they're putting top fighters in with f*cking Milkmen.

BN for me. When I think of BN and how much it costs p/m it doesn't even register and when big cards on I think it is an absolute steal. Sky on the other hand is not value for money IMO. I grudge paying for it as it is full of ****. Even Sky's PPV card's were awful. Good headline fights but most of the rest squash matches. odds of 1/50, 1/100 etc total BS and what is the point of even watching those sort of contests.

Tough one for me, as neutral boxing fan wanting to see the big fights, id say BN but as a Brit wanting to see our domestice fighters id say Sky.

Hearn needs to step up their comp though this year or that bright young stable could end up with padded records and being exposed on their first world level fight, this opportunity is years away i know, its just a concern. I hope Eddie is in this for the long haul to develop them properly.

Also think Channel 5 did well early n this year but the lack of activity for the second hlaf let them down, but given they arent a dedicated sports channel of any type at least they are making an effort

Boxnations domestic cards have been awful. unlucky though for Frank. His top fighters have been going to Eddie and with people getting injuries before fights etc. I think next year they will improve a lot though. Whilst on the other hand Sky sports domestic coverage have been great. But I think Boxnations International fights were a lot better than Skys. Boxnation is only going to get better next year though with HD :)

Sky had some good nights but overall the cards were mixed in terms if quality. There wasn't much difference between the mediocre Sky and BN domestic cards.

BN gets the nod for the international fights.

Hearn didn't have a great end to the year. The Froch v Grooves fight apart his last couple of cards were very threadbare.

Matchroom never lived up to the hype surrounding them as the new age promoters the cracks are starting to show last few shows have been well below par the charismas bonanza show was substandard ..BN for their lack of funds have done well....I would like to see Sky divide their dates up with the country's leading 4 promoters **** Hearn having all the dates...
