That Ward ain't much of a mover and Froch generally deals well with opponents that are right in front of him. Kessler is a real textbook technician, but one who can trade as well. Kessler beat Froch fair and square with a style which Froch couldn't overwhelm. Ward tries rough house tactics (holding, up close punching) which Froch really won't struggle with. Froch's achilles heals is good boxers. If Taylor had better stamina he'd have pissed all over Froch and got a wide UD. Dirrell if he wasn't a chicken shít for 6 rounds would have pissed all over Froch 'cause Dirrell can move and punch. Ward isn't a boxer who will move around and give Froch problems, he'll try and go to war with Froch but doesn't have the defence to frustrate Froch. Froch and Ward will both be right in front of each other and Froch will take what Ward has and return in kind.

Quote me and re-post if I'm wrong, I'll hold my hands up. But I really see Froch beating Ward, rather convincingly, infront of neutral judges of course.

 

I expect bigger things from Dirrell, really I do. He showed in the second half of the fight against Froch and right up until the DQ against Abraham (whether he faked it or not) that he could outbox two of the best in the division quite comfortably. Like I said above, quote me if I'm wrong, but I think in a few years time Dirrell will be top 10 P4P and if he was still in the Super Six he'd be my favourite to win it.

That DQ and the drama surrounding it has overshadowed the talent Dirrell actually has. If he got a UD in that fight it's Dirrell who'd be regarded as NO1 at 168, imo.

Let me tell you i've been watching Ward almost from the get-go and the kid can do EVERYTHING in that ring, i've seen him fight almost every way and with every style. Ward can move if he has to. You're getting it twisted, my friend. Watch his fight with Edison Miranda. Andre Ward is a complete fighter, you've been seeing him fight on the inside the last few fights but trust me he can box and move on the outside too.

You make it seem like what he does on the inside is just get 'rough'. Inside fighting takes a trained eye to appreciate and if you could see what he does when he goes on the inside you wouldn't be describing him in this way. Ward handcuffs fighters, he blindfolds with his jab, he slides under anything big, he turns his glove and blocks shots, he has his chin tucked in by his shoulder. Please watch these subtle things very closely.

You're raving about the one trick pony Dirrell, but it's what i like to call the classic 'athletes syndrome'. By that i mean casual fans are drawn to athletes and more dynamic guys who are more impressive with the 'normal' eye. Ward is twice the fighter Dirrell is, mentally and technically.

Ward is a winner, a student of the game. He's basically got the head of an old Hopkins with a younger body. Do you know he hasn't lost since he was like 14 years old? This kid is special trust me. It's just not the dynamic Roy Jones type of special and that's where you're being fooled.

Ward won gold in the amateurs in a artificial weight. He basically just competed there just to make extra room for a teammate, this is how mature and refined this kid is even so early. He doesn't shoot his wad and acts like he's been there before, he behaves like a fighter everytime. He always does what works for him, i swear sometimes i get the feeling he's practising things in there when people think he's being 'rough' or messy.

Inside fighting is the hardest area to perfect and fine tune. The problem is because us new generation of fans have grown up in an era where inside fighting has been lost, our eyes are not trained because we don't see hardly any fighters who are comfortable there, so when someone comes along who's accomplished on the inside we don't know how to react.

I really mean this Ward could fight and beat Froch with any style he wants. That is the fight where Carl is the one frustrated, when Ward takes away his best shot, pivots and turns him, blindfolds him with the jab, slides under his shots and counters at will. It's the fight all of Froch's flaws come to the fore and we're sitting annoyed that Carl just can't seem to get off.

You really need to study this kid because Jersey Joe Walcott would be proud of him.
