If he beats PAC and JMM there is the possibility he may be put no1 by Ring.

I fear it may be a bitter pill to swallow for some.:D

I hope it's more to do with promoting the fight rather than what Hatton truely feels, tho if he wins in style he's certainly moves up to near the top of the mythical "p4p" ratings.

What's weird is Sky don't seem to be stressing that Hatton's the World light welterweight champion & instead keep listing him as IBO champion.

I've heard the same on the BBC I think. They don't seem to acknowledge the Ring title... but lawed the ABC titles like the IBO... :?

Its easy to say "oh, they're just building up the fight."

But, as a boxing fan I don't want to have to read and listen to the garbage afterwards if Hatton wins. Yes, it would be a very good achievement..............but Hatton is not going in against impossible odds and he is most definitely not going in to win the P-4-P title (whatever the **** that is?!?)

Admittedly, I also was quite pissed at this, hopefully on Sky will rate him no.1 p4p, ring magazine won't, will be good to see where BBC have him.

It will be funny if Hatton blows Pac away quick time because boxing fan's won't actually give him much credit.

Remember, before Pac fought De La Hoya noone gave him a hope in hell of beating Hatton or Hoya.

It will put Pac's win over Hoya into perspective if Hatton ****s him up.

SKY and the Uk in general will go crazy though and act like he's just beaten Floyd, ffs.

If Pac beats Hatton though then that is a tremendous win for Pac.

    It's not just Sky Sports.

It's pretty much every media outlet that's covered the build up to this fight.

In interviews with the Hatton no ones dared question his assertion that he would attain pound for pound number one status if he beats Pacman.

Boxing Monthly - last months edition - ran a big spread on the Hatton Pacman fight and within that they referred several times to this fight being for the pound for pound title.

I'm beginning to think that he's taking the **** with all his pound for pound talk.

He's having a great laugh behind closed doors. He conducts an interview in which he refers to tonight's fight being for the pound for pound title. Then refers to himself in the third person several times during the course of the interview. Not once does the interview query why he's talking about himself in the third person nor challenge this ludicrous notion that he'll be atop of the p4p ranking should he win.

He's loving taking the **** outta the media.

He can't really be serious, can he?

I can cut Sky, who are promoting a PPV, and the national papers, whose readers generally don't know any better (or care!) some slack but its inexcusable that Boxing Monthly buys into it.

SKY Sports pretty much said last night that they would put Hatton at No.1 P4P in their P4P list if he wins.

Given how they've promoted the fight, I'd say they've backed themselves into a corner.

So did Oscar De La Hoya. And he owns "The Ring", whose P4P list is generally the most used in the sport.
