They do the same thing in football by way overrating their top players. Beckham, a good but not great player, achieved catastrophic fame riding the wave of UK media crap/fan gullibility.

Honestly, a lot of us know our media stinks. It's embarrasing. But at the same time i know the US is just as bad.
It's something i tell my son about often. ****ing sensationalism.

Agree. UK media generally >> US media. But not when it comes to sports. I think it might be because they generally suck at sports so way overrate any decent athletes they have.

No, the American news media is far worse than in the UK. The bias tolerated in US news is unreal compared to Britain. Like I already said though, the sports media is absolutely atrocious. They're basically there to type lies and pro British propaganda.

Fair enough, all I regularly encounter of the UK media involves sports.

Haye revealed a broken toe had hampered his preparation and there is no doubt a damaged right foot would have taken away his leverage - had he got within range to land to expose the Ukrainian's suspect jaw.

I'm British and Sky Sports is ****ing disgraceful in it's boxing coverage so this isn't surprising. 1 reporter once asked George Groves " would you consider fighting Amir Khan next". Groves just half smiled and said "don't you mean Carl Froch". That's what we're dealing with

It's just a way to make minor numbers on PPV buys. They can't really announce "Haye did absolutely ****" cuz nobody's gonna order the replay, are they. At least with a knockout they could still sell it.
