What a ****ing ridiculous thing for SKY to say..... Eggington has the most fan friendly style around - his fights always provides value for money.
It's hard to believe they actually said this, considering Eggington couldn't be any more exciting. He's one of the most exciting fighters to watch in the world right now. It's probably that he's not woke enough for Boxxer. Boxxer is the most woke boxing promotion I've ever seen, as well as being the worst promoter ever. Eggington doesn't look like a member of JLS and isn't female = probably the reason.
This is exactly it. He's an exciting boxer who's pretty dull and looks like one of the Bash Street Kids. Compare to someone like Frazer Clarke - unfailingly polite, will turn up and do interviews in the right places and say the right things, act as a pundit when he's not in the ring, etc. That's what Sky wants now.
Didn’t EGGington go toe to toe with shot Paulie Malignaggi? That was entertaining if I’m remembering it correctly
He walked through him and beat him up from my memory. Might have been closer than what I remember though.
Ridiculous. Anyone that says that knows nothing about boxing. Sam Eggington is as entertaining as you get.
From the same guys who wanted to make Okorie the face of Sky Sports Boxing. I bet Sam can sell more tickets than Okolie as well. Throw Buatsi into that also
It is difficult to believe, in fact I wondered if it was his management trying to drum up some talk around him, perhaps to illlustrate the level of interest? This however: does have a grim ring of truth about it. Quick Sam, get on Twitter and announce you're transitioning. 2 minute rounds will lengthen your career and there's belts to be had!
It was one sided apart from one burst from Paulie at the end of a round where he landed about 6 flush on the Egg who just laughed, as a fan I remember finding that very un-friendly viewing and sat patiently for Okolie to come on.
This is beyond perplexing. Fear that the days of boxing on Sky could well be numbered if this is the way they're going and the sort of people they have involved.
