Hard times for WWE right now according to my westling geek mate. The money they make from touring in Europe is making up for falling revenue in the states. Dont thinkt they are in a position to be dictating any more.

ESPN will probably be fairly happy.
The Ultimate Fighter is advertising the UFC and if it's being shown on the SKY it will reach a bigger audience and probably lead to more people tuning into the PPV's on ESPN.

    Its not really.

UFC IS MMA - at least at the highest level. Japan is on its last legs and Strikeforce is surviving week to week by producing cheap content for Showtime. In contrast the UFC is a billion dollar company and setting new records on PPV and expanding into new countries (UAE, Australia, Germany, UK). I don't think anybody sane would dispute that the seven Zuffa champions are the world champions; and as far as 95% of the fanbase is concerned they are the ONLY champions. So no they'll never be an unification match but whereas the four (five?) major titles are boxing are on a relatively even level, the UFC's are so far ahead of anything else that unifying the titles means little if anything.

Brilliant news. I like the UFC and MMA but will not pay for ESPN. As long as Sky keep showing boxing it is fine.

to be fair i hope sky sports stop boxing altogether and premier sports picks the lot up - saves me paying two subscription fees and id rather pay 6.99 than £20 per month

You don't think boxers take steroids?....

Most boxers (even most elite boxers)strength and conditioning regimes are not based on any scientific method. Too many people in boxing are old school and not open to new ideas. The atheletes in the UFC use far more
advanced methods and are light years ahead.

    dumb move by sky

the reality show has fights which tend to be of low quality and it could turn casual fans away from mma
