Read that in the papers. I think if the bbc ever wanted to get back into the boxing Haye would go with them instead of SKY. Take Haye on board and sign up the Hayemaker fighters to even bbc3 at a push keep Haye on bbc 1 it could work. If any Hayemaker fighters get a world title shot move to bbc1. They already have Buncey at the bbc so theres a half of there pundits and sign up Kerr. Imagine live boxing on the bbc it would be great stuff. Instead if Haye goes to SKY them ****ers will charge you to watch Haye box in a world title fights cheeky shits. They had Haye on Sky and let him go they must be kicking themselfs the amount of money they lost on getting rid of him. As for Warren he wants to be the big fish at sky and his nose may well be put out by what sky will be doing if they get Hennesey and Haye promotions.
What is the odds that Haye's next fight is on the early part of the SBO PBF V JMM match in September?
Warren hasnt put on a WBU title fight in 2 years, and Sky havent for almsot 4 years. I think the monolpaly will be a good thing. Theres no excuse for big domestic fights not happening anymore. If Macklin and Barker are both on sky, what stops the fight.
Good shout. Only problem would be how they split the UK PPV revenue. If Haye is on there, he could claim to be at close to being the main draw on the show and the Mayweather camp apparently believe that Mayweather is a draw in the UK. Also, Buncey said he expected Haye to announce his new TV deal by Thursday so that fits in as well
Doesn't mean he won't start again, for the reason I gave above. As for Macklin and Barker, having them on the same channel doesn't stop Macklin wanting to go down 'another' route. Lot's of domestic match ups didn't happen when there were lots of fighters on Sky. Look at the Roberts, Alexander, Khaliq, Williams situation at 154 about 5 or 6 years ago.
1,000,000 to 1. If they do put Haye vs Vitali on SBO they wont be able to have PBF vs JMM on a week later. it will go on normal sky sports.
Hopefully I'm not jinxing it but I think Sky learned their lesson then. It was after that period that they instituted the no fake belts policy and to their credit they have stuck to it. If they want Macklin-Barker to happen, I think it will happen. I think/hope they are going to have the power for the next little while to make the big domestic fights happen
I hope they do take that stance. They'll be the ones stumping the majority of the cash up for these fights, so they should be able to demand what fights get made. You don't often see HBO paying for stuff they don't want.
The promoters are going to have to play ball because they aren't going to have many options. To be fair, I never thought a fight like McIntosh-Cleverly would get signed so the signs are good
lads any boxing is better than no boxing great policy but surely if its a good fight they should get it Alpha titles mean nothing now its the ifghters now i have my doubts that this will go ahead also why dont Sky let a boxing fan by the fights for them give them a budget and let them do what they want
i would be very suprised if a non boxing fan was in charge of buying there boxing coverage. its a bit more complicated than buying a packet of crisps.
becuase????? they only stopped buying fights from the US when setanta started bidding silly money. Has the thought ever crossed your mind boxing is not that popular anymore?
