Eddie can't just walk up to Adam Smith and say...'Hey Adam get rid of all the other promoters, this is my channel' Sky are to blame, not Eddie.

Matthews/Crolla was a great fight, but half the time Hattons put on average cards.

I hate Prizefighter, it started off well, but now it's kak.

Sky should scrap it, but it does good numbers, so they won't. :-(

You mean Hearn does have a massive input?

It works both ways though, where would matchroom take their ball? ESPN? Terrestrial? They need each other.

Yea I agree with you, people seem to go all starry eyed when Eddie has anything to say and hes most certainly not going to radicalise the sport in any real substantive way, but what I think gets people on here on the matchroom bandwagon is that contrast between Maloney / Hatton shows of 5 x prospect smacking about eastern euros who shouldnt be allowed in a professional ring with a dreary british title fight topping the bill, ****** taking his fights to SKY PPV at almost every possible chance and Hearn putting on decent shows with big crowds, some decent matchups and inventive ways of bringing the fight to people who otherwise wouldnt even know it was happening.

Its not perfect, but its an improvement on what the aforementioned seemed to serve up for the last couple seasons

    Hmmm... yes he can...

"Adam, listen, we want to be your sole provider. It will save you money, make your life easier and let us build our stable to future PPV events."

"Hmmmm, stroke my leg while I think about it, Eddie..."

Eddie is as much to blame as Sky. They'll have pushed for it, Sky won't have just decided.

As for the Hattons I seem to remember them putting on pretty decent ones. Although, admittedly nothing as stacked and thrilling as Prizefighter...

I am, but it's based on reasonable experience of how Sky works.

Unless you are trying to build the brand. As someone mentioned earlier a lot of casual fans tuned in to watch Brook/Hatton and Froch/Bute. If these are turned into regular fight fans then sky will have rebuilt another sport's fanbase to new levels. As it has with football, darts, and is trying to do with F1 and hopefully boxing.

I just hope it makes Sky give boxing a decent budget next year if the brand continues to grow, on the back of the Olympic talent coming over, and the talent we already have.
There's are good fights to be made, plus good prospects for undercards. It should be a good time to be a boxing fan.

668k on a premium subscription channel is alot better than a million or 2 on terrestiel channel which everyone has.
