How do these boxers do it before a very big fight. I remember Kessler saying he didnt sleep the night before the Calzaghe fight and since that fight was like 4:00am he must of been awake for more than 36 hours. Also I think Ding said he used to take sleeping pills, but it would continue to have its effects during fight night and he wouldnt be 100% ready. Its hard to imagine whats going on in the heads of Pacquiao and Hatton tonight when trying to sleep.
Manny probably reads the bible till he passes out, and Hatton probably yokes off to the footage of him in a thong before he hits the hay. These guys have their methods, I'm sure.
I don't know either. I know a lot of athletes have a tough time sleeping before a big event. I remember Jerry Rice saying he couldn't sleep at all the night before the Super Bowl (obviously it didn't hurt his performance). Rocky Marciano was known to take naps in the dressing room before a fight. :?
My question is how they fall asleep after the fight. I mean especially a brutal fight where they had a bloody nose, a cuts all over their face, a broken hand, etc. it must be tough to breathe in bed if you get beat up enough
Sleeping pills would fix that easily along with morphine. The pills cant be taken the night before a fight because it could have continued effects for the following day.
