lol...well....we all know it can't be FOTY because of who the combatants were and the amount of scheduled rounds...

BUT...it was definitely better/more entertaining than Froch-Kessler...I can tell you that...

There were more flush punches landed, knees buckled, and louder crowd responses in those 2 rounds than that other bout provided for the entire 12...

Seriously....what an awkward, overrated shitfest THAT fight was....(overrated only in certain corners, mind you)....in actuality, it was nothing more than a botched "Brawl of The Bs"...aka "a glorified Toughman match"...soooo many missed and ugly punches thrown....a chore to watch, let alone score....

Yeah....I have to say it was almost as bad as Froch-Dirrell....the kind of fight refined, QUALITY Boxing Fans can only watch once....and begrudgingly at that.

it was entertaining for the utter freakshow that it happened to be. is it me, or was the entire second round in slow motion?

for what it's worth, i'm happy that kimbo is still making money doing what he loves to do. maybe he can carve out a butterbean-esque career for himself within the four round limit. either way, unless they're incredibly careful, he'll be getting knocked out at some point.

    1. he was never good.

    2. he has no chin.

    3. no speed.

    4. no technique.

    Round 2.

But you may be right with the whole 4 round thing for ol' Kevin.

A DeMarcus Corley (as of today) skill level heavyweight would obliterate Kimbo.

One of the worst box "fights" I've seen in a while. Zero skill, terrible conditioning, zero defense. Just awful.

What a terrible, awful, strangely interesting fight. I don't think Kimbo's chin is that bad, I think his defense and reactions are so terrible that he is getting caught with ridiculously telegraphed punches that no boxer (and I use that term in the loosest possible sense here) has any business getting caught by. From what I remember, I don't even think the jab-knockdown in the UFC is anything near what it was made out to be, he just has crap technique and balance. He didn't exactly look that out of it after all the follow up punches.

Kimbo's main limitations are a gas-tank that lasts <45 seconds, crap defense and crap reactions. He carries a bit of power for those first 45 seconds, but any boxer above the absolute bottom rung journeymen he's currently facing will make him look like the back yard brawler he is.

Anyway, credit to him for giving it a shot and somehow carving out a career from it.
