He had those moves but was conservative about them. benny leonard is all about economy, he could be defensively clever and outbox the boxer but his general style was that of a boxer-puncher who moved around a lot, picked his shots, and used his ring IQ to dictate the pace of the fight. Very complete though by all accounts.
I'd have to say that I disagree with that.. Corbett gets credited with that but I disagree. I don't see him executing a short, concise left hook very well on footage and I think that fighters before Leonard exhibited pretty good ones, Langford and Gans being two, McFarland being another. Plus its not like a single fighter ever single handedly changes the game or reinvents everything on his own... "If I have seen further it is only by standing on the shoulders of giants"-Isaac Newton You know what it stands for :hey
I heard he did something similar against Zahir Raheem? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uB1vqJj9GvI[/ame] OH WAIT!
The slickest fight ever would involve two black fighters simultaneously running around the ring away from one another. This sounds like something black fans would be interested in.
The main element in the "slick" style is holding and clinching. Hagler, Hearns and Bowe are not considered slick because they allow a puncher, once they got inside their jab, to fight their style. They knew how to fight on the inside. Real slick fighters once their opponents get by their jab would immediately grab and hold. We see this in Ali even when he was still a young Cassius Clay. Most practitioners of the slick style tend to be tall and have long reach advantage. Lately it has been refined, you don't have to move around as much, (Lewis-Holyfield, Lewis-Tua) just immediately tie them up. And you don't have to be black! (Klitschos.)

and this clown below was talking about how they'll run around the ring from each other. People with real boxing skills can actually be elusive while using the least movement possible. It's these "aggressive" guys who ride bikes from ring post to ring post when **** hits the fan.
