I agree , Bradley is a poor mans Holyfield. Heart, strong and belief. But the technique is poor.

When I think of a slick fighter I think of a fighter with a combination of exceptionally good rythm, defense, and movement. Many world class boxers are proficient in these areas, but to me the slick ones really incorporate those three elements into their style

WTF???? Why go all angry? U Mad?

You resort to name calling like 12 year old who got sand kick in his eyes. Grow up.

I used your definition. If you can't understand why the term "slick" is subjective then I can't help you. Evidence is right here in this thread. You have people who are on the same side of the pro-slick isle who cannot even agree who is slick - let alone the meaning of it. So far, we have like 3 different meanings.

How is it selective? Where in your meaning you reference the opponent ? Next thing is you are going to suddenly mention shoe size, glove size and kind of car they drive.

See what I mean by subjective?

Ugh - see this is what I mean.
You confuse quality of execution with style.

Carlos Quintana could have an argument to be slick back in his day?

    I enjoy being angry, hahaha.

No you did not use my definition. You used my definition out of context on a fighter who cherry picks slow fighters. When he is in there with anyone with skill his BS slickness goes out of the window. He refuses to fight anyone that is a fast slick counter puncher and has done so his ENTIRE career.

It is selective because if you are a "slick" fighter you keep doing "slick" stuff no matter who you face. That is NOT Pac. Talking prime? James Toney is slick. FMJ is slick. RJJ is slick. Sergio Martinez is slick. Willie Pep was slick. You don't get recognized as "slick" because you are fighting flat footed plodders.

All descriptive words are subjective. Does that toss all adjectives out of the window? Beautiful, fun, fast, hot, cold, etc... Your "point" is a bit silly.

    YES!

"Slick" does not mean "great". It is just an attribute.

Huh? You completely missed the point. Weaving your head is not "SLICK"! Quality of execution, poor, average, or excellent... still doesn't make it slick. It looks forced and a learned skill. Tyson never looked effortless the same way Bradley doesn't. He is executing a skill not a natural effortless element.

    Naseem Hamed was SLICK!

Juan Manuel Marquez also does both of these things and he's not slick. Throwing combos and feinting alone doesn't make a slick fighter. most championship level fighter have these skills to a degree.

it's a combination of the things i listed before, bradley just isnt slick man. it's not a criticism. just a statement of a fact.

Is there a standard level of athleticism required to be slick?

Slickness is something that has more to do with style than athleticism, but speed, vision, reflexes are a must to be a good slick fighter.
