yeah you are probably right, I am probably biased toward Tommy. That is for sure. I always loved his style and who he was. I don't think Duran or Hearns or Hagler would do steroids. Ray? Probably not but more than those 3 would. Those 3 had a warriors confidence in themselves. Ray was great ,but he looked for advantages all the time. Not saying he would take steroids, just more possible than Roberto,Tommy and Marvin. I hate to say it, but just personality wise. But I don't think he did. Tommy joked in 1989 a few days before the rematch that Ray was looking big and maybe he was on something. It really pissed off Ray who said, I will put up all my purse if you put up yours. If it comes out negative you give up your purse. He said Tommy never mentioned it again. Hearns was just trying to irritate Ray a little. And it worked. Ray liked to be psychological, but he could not really take many comments from other fighters..
Pac takes out this "Juran" fool in 1, too modern and Juran isn't. If he is so great why doesn't he fight pac instead of ducking him?
'He used steroids" has become a phrase people use to unfairly knock any athlete they don't like. Duran did not lift weights, and steroids were pretty much unknown of to boxers then. Never been any indications or rumors Duran used them, some youtube comment does not merit an accusation.
There's no evidence that he used them. He never looked like he'd gained much muscular weight in his career. But let's not pretend or assume that boxers in the 1970s weren't using steroids. It's not the boxers themselves or even the trainers who had to know about the drugs, it's the training camp doctors they called in to fix injuries and give the fighters a boost. There have been all sorts of drugs and potions knocking around in the sport since the beginning.
anj I'm not saying they're not quality wins. I'm saying you don't have much of a clue about most of the fighters you're talking about. What does 'pretty dominant' mean? Read a ****ing dictionary.
I'm from UK, we use a different lingo. Guts' 'quality' winning streak did make him a dominant force in the lightweight division, period. Whether you say I don't have 'much of a clue' or not does not matter to me, I believe I addressed the person I was responding to appropriately. The person said 'duran isn't top 10 p4p. he lost to all the great fighters he faced.'
I wasn't talking about you, Orriray. Nah, you got it all wrong. I saw that post where you called him Turdan. I did. See, I was talking about those other people. They were ignoring it. Like assholes.
I'm from the UK and you just used 'period' This content is protected . Your explanation is **** poor. Admit you got some details wrong. Lets talk about Guts then, and let's talk about Gato. What was it about Guts that made him such a quality performer and how 'dominant' can you be with the opponents he'd beaten (in that run) and without beating the no.1 in the division. Again, check a dictionary for the meaning of 'dominant'.
You are too much of a grammar nazi on an INFORMAL forum. I'm not having this conversation with you. You are full of angry internet-trollish jabs and I don't bother for that. It's too immature. Bye
