Olympic became worthless when professional athletes started representing their country. What is ironic is boxing was one of the few Olympic sport that can help launched an amateur to a professional and it will be taken away.

It’s just another large money grubbing corrupt organization .

Just when you think boxing can't sink any lower...

Now down to the IOC, did they mean what they said? If Boxing does go, it may be difficult for it to get back in even if it does clean house...

Seems like the Dutch NOS.nl site jumped the gun. I don't believe there's much chance of boxing staying Olympic after this farce.

    Good riddance.

Olympic boxing is a corrupt p.o.s and they did it to themselves.

We should start by kicking AIBA out of the United States and bring back the AAU.

AAU, Golden Gloves, PAL like the old days.

I guess the global tournament now will be the World Championships (always was a better test than the olympics, but equally corrupt), Americans however show zero interest in the world championships (Ward, Mayweather, etc didnt even bother going)

The IOC is gonna get there cut. The new Mafia head boss will make sure of that.
Then well see boxing in the Olympics so that we can complain some more.
The status quo will be regained my friends.

He did. Two other Americans (can't remember names) won bronzes. And yes, it's an anomaly these days.

That option will still be there for young Americans amateurs if they really want it. No professionals allowed to compete either if i recall correctly (that was just a money grubbing olympic thing).

Olympic boxing is an embarrassment just look at the ludicrous scoring system for starters. All brought about because they couldn't find any honest judges sorta like Vegas tyoday
