Hey, I was wondering if anyone here either heard of, or read this book: http://www.amazon.com/Slow-Burn-Fitness-Revolution-Exercise/dp/0767913868 I was reading an interview with the other here: http://www.enotalone.com/article/4605.html The auther seems to say that cardiovascular exercise is over-rated for overall health, and it does not strengthen the lungs and the heart...?? what do you guys think?
I think the author doesnt know what he is talking about. Cardio training does imporve stamina and fitness. Its a proven fact. What evidence does he have against it?
I completely agree, I thought cardio increased your lung capacity, made your heart rate lower, and made oxygen transfer to your muscles more efficeint... Its like telling Lance Armstrong to stop biking so much and start focusing on some slow burn weightlifting once a week instead....i really don't get itatsch
The guys a ****ing idiot. If what he is saying is true anything that involes a slight bit of danger is not exercise.
People are always trying to come up with crazy claims to sell books. A lot of physio work has already been published and they need to stand out, so making outlandish claims is the only way to do it. Plus, people want to believe that cardio is not necessary since it is so time-consuming and difficult.
