Fighters want to get paid. Hence the rush to the top. Quicker to the top, bigger the names, bigger the pay day. Maximize the coin for the time they are in the ring. Makes cents.

Guys with that much amateur experience don't need as much experience in the pro ranks to achieve the same results. Most prospects are brought along slow while they work on technique, but with super amateurs they already have firmly established technique.

If you look at the guys who captured titles in the fewest fights, it's always guys with extensive amateur or kickboxing backgrounds.

Veeraphol Sahaprom got a title in 4 fights, but he was already a three weight kickboxing champion. Saensak Muangsurin another muay thai kickboxer wins a title in 3 fights. Sot Chitalada, muay thai champ, wins a boxing title in 8 fights.

Then you have the big amateurs like Oscar De La Hoya who had 240 amateur fights and wins a title in his 12th bout. Guillermo Rigondeaux has 475 amateur fights and picks up a pro title after 9 bouts. Kostya Tszyu has 270 amateur fights and picks up a title after only 14 pro bouts. Vasyl Lomachenko 397 amateur fights wins a title his 3rd fight as a pro. Sven Ottke had 308 amateur bouts and won a title on his 13th fight, and so forth.

Haven't read yet but "The Attention Deficit Disorder Generation, or at this point everybody..." is a hell of an opening line.
