look he is absolutely superb fighter one of the best I have ever seen, but fight by fight his feet work at times gets sloppier for me, he falls in on punches more than he used to. After 400 fights both amatuer and pro combined its bound to happen, anybody who watched him in the amatuers would tell you he barley got touched in those fights because his feet so ridiculously quick and getting in and out, he has short arms so he needs to be pitch perfect technically which mostly he is but I see some holes fighters will exploit now. you could see even in the post fight press conference team loma were not that happy with the performance, more frowns than smiles. I wonder if he might look to unify and call it a day the the end of 2020, he has other hobbies and a life outside boxing he wants to enjoy.
Luke Campbell was a tall rangy lefty with fast hands. I dont see Loma in with so many Southpaws. It was a tougher fight for him but Lukes a tough fighter. I thought it was a very good performance against a strong solid test. Im not sure if he will go up to 140, if he does that has to be even his limit but if he doesnt and does what you say i could accept that too.
Campbell fought like Albert Selimov (the only guy to beat Lomachenko as an amateur). Southpaw, rangy, balanced and patient counter punching. As I said before the fight, I was more unsure of this one than GRJ and Walters. Lomachenko looked as good as ever, this was a tough style and a tough opponent.
Lol, have we seen the same match? Loma was perfect. Of course he will struggle and work hard to get the victory. His opponents are not some guys from street, the are proven professional boxers.
Lomachenko is not slowing down. It is just that his opponent this time is a good one. Even Loma himself acknowledged it that the fight would be a tough one. The reason why you don't see the quick-feet-ghost-like version of Loma is probably because he fought at inside most of the time. Loma is an all-around fighter who can switch between infight and outbox style perfectly. However, in 135, due to his opponents are mostly taller, bigger and has longer reach than him, he can't fight at outside. Loma won't have this kind of problem if he stays at 130.
Here´s a thought.. the way Campbell fought, especially the first half of the fight, I think only one man in the division beats him - and that´s Lomachenko. LC is taller, rangier, heavier and has fast hands and very good feet. Nothing wrong with looking human vs a tough opponent.
I'm pumping the brakes on Loma his stock dropped after Campbell. I remember when Linares, Tank & Krusher fought in Great Britan. Now those show cases, Loma has egg on his face after that performance
agreed on him staying at 135 or dropping down to 130, he looked massively under sized against Campbell. again I speak as a loma fan but I do sense he has lost a slight step.
