How do you feel about this? Something came up in the last month that has needed my concentration. I still do minimum 2-3 hours conditioning, but am missing classes, just training 1-2 times a week instead of 3-5 as I should be. I feel guilty, but I need the money or else I can't train period. I am doing this for fun, but I need more time in the gym if I want to be competitive. It IS possible for me to keep training hard, I just have to get used to a different sleep schedule. Thoughts?
that you're gonna have to work out yourself. You might have to sleep at different times, sacrifice certain things etc.
Once youre at a decent level a break can help as long as you keep conditioning. You might go back better than before. Don't stop conditioning or you will hate yourself and want to die. Don't ask me how I know this. I just know.
It'll be two years come December. Some time off and on before that. I ****ed up during the last two days and just rolled over without trying to get to the gym. But this work project is serious, has been for months. Guys, thanks for your encouragement. I have been doing great in sparring, and I can start to have fights after the project is done.
The project is important, though and needs concentration at this point. 1 or two mistakes could make me look bad, and there's politics and ****.
You can try breaking those 2-3 hour work outs into one hour a couple more times a week. Don't fatigue yourself to the point you might not want to come back. Just keep in shape while taking a break and come back hungry.
Had an amazing day in the gym today, but the coach was wondering why I left halfway through sparring. I told him what I was working on, and he understood. Its gonna delay my progress a bit, but I have NOT quit and will try to be more consistent.
If you are serious about boxing it has to be number 1 after family and work sometimes even before that. I understand fully it's the reason I have had a lay off from the ring. Life is hard and I understand you have to make a living but if your serious about boxing can I just ask how old are you and how bad do you want it. Because If your serious and want it badly as your saying you have to make time lose sleep commit every spare hour you have to boxing. You may have to wake up a few hours then you do now or sleep a few hours later or both. The thing I'm trying to say is how bad do you want it because not to sound rude or anything it sounds to me your half serious but your unsure if you can't get to the gym make up for it weights sprints hill runs swimming cardio workouts skipping shadow boxing perfecting your basics in a mirror and I mean hours. Then you won't feel Like you have missed out make time of course sparring your missing out on but if your training your body to be a boxer then train like 1 outside the gym aswell as in it. I hope it all works out for you
