:good Mayweather/Cotto in 2009: Cotto wins it

I will say, though, that as a Hatton fan, it would be disturbing watching him take a beating. He'd be busted up in the very first round. I wonder if Graham, Ray Hatton, and his promoters would allow him to take this fight.

but bullshyt is still bullshyt.....i dont see how u give Cotto and Arum a pass.....when all they are doing is placing the fight soley on him.....if u were them and u were i guess confident u could win and ur biggest payday.....would u

    A. i will fight floyd if he wants...im not scared of anyone

    B. I want Floyd because he is the best and i want to beat the best
(this is a respect response some of u are high on his persona)

    or

    C. I want Floyd Mayweather

as you can see neither response is disrespectful but if your so called hungry y not just say u want the fukkin best stop dancin around the shyt.

Now before u cotto fans get mad i do also recognize that the same can be said of floyd..........thats not the argument...the argument is that Floyd is getting alllll the blame when both he and cotto are BULLSHYTTING

I love ricky hatton to death as a fighter, it would be bad to see him get jacked up, his face gets busted up easy and Cotto is a plastic surgeon with granite in his fists. Hatton might be able to make it a great fight but Cotto only has to weather the storm and then its just an absolute thrashing. I think Graham has actually said that they have no intentions of fighting the 147lb version of Miguel Cotto. It really would be suicide for Hatton, but I'd respect the guy for having unreal pride and guts to take on a beast like Cotto.

Cotto is clearly on a role right now and the Margorito match should be good as it gets. If you look at the top welters in the division, in no order it looks something like this:

    Champ Mayweather
    Cotto
    Mosley
    Quintana
    Williams
    Margorito
    Clottey
    Judah

So, of the top 7 contenders Cotto has already beat three and is looking to face the fourth. Considering his match with Margorito will be his sixth in the division I'd say he is definitly looking to clear out the division. If he does fight and beat Margorito he still has plenty of welterweight options. Williams-Quintana winner, Clottey, rematches with Margorito and Mosley-Judah winner, Berto is on his way up, Hatton, and of course 2009's biggest fight-Mayweather. A lot of options at welterweight, just don't move to 154, I think there he might be in some trouble.

This is how I see the Welter Wieght division:

    1. Floy Mayweather
    2.Miguel Cotto

    4. Antonio Margarito

The guys in Red are guys that have either been beaten by Antonio Maragrito or Miguel Cotto and the Guys in blue are guys that have been beaten by guys that have been beaten by Antonio Maragrito or Miguel Cotto. Thats a pretty cleaned out division where I come from!

The winner of a Cotto Margarito fight will have beat everyone there is to beat other then Nuzhnenko and Berto. There are few divisions in boxing that will be this cleaned out or have such a clear claim to challenge the top guy.

The notion of issues/challenges/offers required crap, is pathetic:yep
A Champion's Duty 2 That Title is to defend against the top guy's. That's what makes the legacy.

    Clearly its PBF vs Cotto:good

Quintnana vs Williams, and SSM could fight their way back to the next top spot after that point:good

Problem is? Floyd's 2 year Plan of DLH and Hatton 2's:-( :-(

Cotto beats Margarito? He's the Champ in my mind. If Floyd wont fight him? **** FLOYD!!!

Cotto used the Gomez fight as a traning drill, both Cotto and Margarito are well ahead of the rest at 147lb so let's get it on!!!:bbb

I got to feel for Andre Berto. Any other division he'd be the king of and a future star. But as it stands there are at least five guys that would wipe his ass. Dam shame. The way he fights I really fear for this kids health against the top guys.

Alfonzo Gomez wasn't ranked top 10 by the ring or any sanctioning body for that matter.

If Williams does what he should have done already by beating Quintana then there is another door open for the Margo/Cotto winner.

Then of course you have guys moving up such as Clottey/Berto/Gutierrez and maybe even Cintron just for a good crowd-drawing fight.

Cotto has options either way. The last thing I'd want him to do is move up after this fight. Same goes for Margo.

He's not cleaning out the division ... he won a vacant belt and has yet to beat a reigning champion. He beat a guy in Gomez w/ zero significant wins, no top 10 victories, and no championship fights.

Zab Judah was coming off 2 losses ...

Mosley hadn't did anything as a WW since 2000 ...

Oktay Urkal, Carlos Quintana, aren't well known WW and up until Quintana fought Cotto he hadn't had a championship fight. Urkal is Urkal and looked like Steve Urkle.

Cotto won't beat Margarito or Mayweather ... he will find his dimise soon ... the champion is Mayweather ... Cotto's just a contender ...

Cleaning out the division is something that Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson did ... what Bernard Hopkins did ... Not what Cotto is doing.

He's going to taste the same fate as Juan Diaz.
