Floyds an ignorant. " YOU FRAID OF UM PUNCH DAT *****" please, he is representing more than himself when millions tune in to watch a prizefight. Floyd represents a fraternity and a profession. Floyd obviously doesn't put much regard into what people think of him so he rambles on as usual and gets a pass. And yes fyi I had one or two drinks tonight.
Some people in the boxing circle have little sypathy for norris after the way he conducted himself during the leonard fight.
There will always be exceptions; I just think the likelihood of it dramatically increases when fighters start young because of how much more damaging it is long term to get hit when you're 15 than when you're 25.
There are posters and posts in many threads that are disrespectful, this thread probably included.......but for the most part at least imo, I found the thread to be educational.Fighters getting to the point of slurring their speech is a fact of boxing, and although as boxing fans we might not like to talk about it, sweeping it under the rug is certainly not going to do anything to help prevent these kinds of happenings.Their are fighters out there who themselves frequent boards like this. A thread like this can make them think twice about prolonging their fighting careers.
It is a reality of boxing, but to "rank" fighters in terms of the effects they've incurrred in the ring is pathetic in my estimation. Granted, boxers know that the sport is dangerous and that they will incur risks, I see no reason to make a sport of debating which boxers have suffered the most from their careers.
I see where you're coming from EA....as you can see however, most in the thread have'nt gone the route that the thread title suggest by ranking them.....but have named fighters who possibly are suffering from slurred speech impairment. Not sure how the starter of the thread intended, but certainly I can see how it would be disrespectful to rank an impairment like that in a ranking order. Thankfully, most have'nt gone that route.
