Would a slick on his feet stick and move boxer like Jersey Joe Walcott,Ezzard Charles, or Jimmy Young prosper in this day and age of awkward sluggers? Let's discuss :bbb
David Haye didn't. Eddie Chambers didn't. You can be slick as all hell, but if someone has you weighed by 40 pounds and is 4 or 5 inches taller, you're more likely to lose.
I don't think they would beat Wlad who's pretty crafty himself, but could put up a good showing against anyone else right now. Charles and Walcott are much more skilled than Haye and Chambers too.
Chambers and Byrd went pretty far but were more in the pocket slick. Povetkin is pretty damn slick but in a come-forward sense, not stick and move. The stick and move sort seems to have gone the way of the Dodo.
It would be hell for those guys (Bigger Bulkier fighters) at least in my opinion, the lateral movement, feints, timed counters, a steady lead hand on their face... Sheesh! They would be in trouble. 1 guy that can "minimally" do that is Steve Cunningham, but sadly he falls short on some stuff.
