“He did not want to fight me. He is a coward. A punk with no heart. He knows what would have happened if he got in the ring.. lights out.”

    Ouch....

What is everybodys view of pulling out more than 2 weeks in advance because of a cold?

Rhodes has aged about 300 years in the last 10-15 years. If the man is sick then he's sick.

What a load of **** from Small. I don't blame Rhodes, if he can't train 1 week out of the last 2 then I think its fair enough. At this point in his career Rhodes can't afford a single slip up so I'd guess he doesn't want to take any chances getting into the ring in less than top shape.

Yeah Rhodes is probably a couple of decent wins away from a world title shot, so why would be risk it?

2 weeks i dont know personally , how do you see it ? I dont know Rhodes situations and thoughts regarding money and respect etc so i cant make a call.

Personally i would probably fight the cold or whatever and then know a week before or a day, that it is not accepted to pull out, genuinely or not. My family and myself would be under greater risk of losing, naturally.

I think he did the right thing

Rhodes can't risk it imo. Regardless, to call him a coward is way out of line and Small should remember his place and keep it in check. As others have stated this is possibly last chance saloon for Rhodes and too great a risk not being 100%.

No point risking fighting Small who can be dangerous.
I was expecting a Rhodes win but this will be going the distance i think.
I doubt Rhodes will want to be fighting 12 rounds without proper training.

No point Rhodes risking it, to be honest theres not much for Rhodes to gain in this fight anyway compared to what Small has to gain.

Small is doing what he does best, talking shite.

I'd like to believe its just part of the "persona" and that he actually doesn't really think that way.

Small wants to be James Toney. Unfortunately he doesn't have the necessary punch resistance and will only succeed in making himself look like an idiot.

i can see why ryans pulled out, the small fight fully fit was a risk in itself although i had him to win as ryan is now in shake up for a world title shot if he keeps winning. i believe dave coldwell pulled ryan out not ryan pulling himself out and i think it was wise because he could quite easily go in there lose not only his british title but his potential world title shot just because of being macho. i know it's only a cold but we seen many fighters lose then say they had been affected by illness in training.
