true, i thought that was what period you would be thinking of, but i don't think he had enough fights really that were of the dominant kind.... just the Hatton\ cotto period that was impressive.Marg and especially Mosley were finished and going through the motions, poor fights imo.

Whitaker was not a small lightweight whatsoever . Or else how would u explain :
    1) him being actually somewhat bigger than Chavez
    2) him being bigger than Ramirez
    3) him going up successfully 2 147 & even 154 2 n extent
    4) never even got back down 2 140 1ce he moved up from ther3

and based on his showings in de ring det i wocht (Ramirez*2, Chavez & yes de Juan Nazario stunt) Whitaker could not even domin8 his own wife during their "honeymoon" .
KOing Nazario whom probably wud not enter de current top 10 @ 135 or won a belt 2day proved nothing plus it might had been a fix .
Nazario was stopped by Rosario and stopped Rosario only due 2 a cut .

But since his record suggests that he "fought" Chito Trinidad , Oscar DeLaHoya , Julio Cesar Vazquez (whom I think is over8ed) and floored and outpointed McGirt I will keep giving him some benefit of de doubt and keep considering him a borderline gr8 4d moment being .

Regarding Marchegiano I do start 2 believe that he used loaded gloves 4 more than 1 reason and his opponents were either : small "HWs" themselves , mature aged granpies , not seriously good or a combination of these attributes .
We do know that he was a cheater .

How about a shout for Donald Curry?

He was not a particularly big welter and looked smaller than guys like Hwang even. And not much of that weight was in the legs. He was smaller than Mookie and McCrory and that was kind of surprising to me, when they met. How much bigger Milton was. And I was backing Curry, and did not like that 1 iota during the pre-fight instructions. There was a lot of support for Milt going into that fight that seems to be forgotten or dismissed now.

When he moved up to jr middle, he looked smaller even than the Brett Lally's and Rosi's and Jacquot.

He sure had a real nice career considering he was not the big guy in the ring. Usually the too big for the division type's are the long reigning champs. Perhaps that's why lots of people thought Donald would have had a real tough time if he'd have fought big welters like Basilio and Griffith and Hearns and guys like that.

Hagler was a smallish middleweight and he really did dominate. He was little compared to Monzon and Hopkins and when he fought the likes of Minter, Watts, Rondon and even Caveman Lee he was giving away a decent size advantage. **** Duran wasn't exactly dwarfed by him either.

Roy Jones was a smallish Lt Heavy as well, often giving away big advantages in height and reach.
