This is how I see it. I would add Fitzsimmons to the list as well.

Fair question but of course Rocky is excluded as he just had that extra x factor no fighter that ever lived did ...

I don't even put Louis in the smaller guys class .. he was 6'2" , basically Holyfield's size and would fight at 215 or so today easy ... as far as his power , no one ever hit as hard or as fast with two hands ... a class by himself.

Dempsey was @187lbs VS Jesse "Retired Slob" Willard,, And many reports say he sneaked 12lbs of weights into his shorts (must of been a lot of space in there!) to weigh more then his real weight of 175lbs at teh weigh-in. WHat make you daft enough to say Dempsey would be better @220lbs like Boystov?? :huh Jackie "The Tramp" Dempsey @220lbs would be a slow flabby-SLOB in teh ring And that a FACT.:deal

    Foreman Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook!:hat

Louis's BEST weight was 198lbs in Schmelling 2 - A extra 17lbs of flabbiness (Louis was NOT a muscular body-type) might make Louis WORSE not better. Even @190lbs Holyfeild was 200lbs was PURE-MUSCLE And he made it to 218lbs of PURE-MUSCLE VS Bowe 2 - so your comparison sucks. Anyway Louis was v.overrated hand-speed, plenty of heavys are faster like Tunney, Patterson, Tyson, Ali, Dempsey, Holyfeild, Walcott And Prime Joey Frazier.

Being a puncher isn't just about power, it's about being able to land the punch and not being pushed back and ko'd before you get the chance. A MW could hurt a HW, Gerald McClellan supposedly beat up Tucker in sparring, although sparring rumours. But going up that much in weight will see power diminish.

Roy Jones could spark allot of MWs and LHWs with 1 shot but he couldn't really bully Ruiz, although he did sting him. Toney's power didn't really go up. Spinks power sort of did but nowhere near as devastating. Moorer/Haye's power absolutely went up but they were solid 220lbers

Kid McCoy would dash both Klitschko's to the canvas at the same time with a single one of his famed corkscrew punches, the one measured by the War Department at 1800 psi pressure when McCoy was in his 50's. Nat Fleischer rated McCoy the single greatest athlete, boxer, gentleman and patron of the arts (along with about 40 other fighters from the same era) so whom am I to argue with such an astute estimation.
