    No way.

Great as he was, Haggler woudl get killed.

The only question is whether it woudl be literally or metaphorically.

Great as Burley was, I see nothing apart from sparring stories, to suggest that he woudl have a prayer against Baer.

While I think, in spite of the stylistic problems, that Rocky Marciano could have a chance of beating Max Baer, the smallest guy I feel really comfortable about beating Max Baer is Jack Dempsey.

Hagler knew how to fight. With Baer it was questionable. I'm really not sure that Max could handle a really good smaller man.

I understand that Hagler was great, but he never made any significant foray north of 160.

You have to make several massive assumptions to even think that he woudl be competitive with Baer.

I would say that this is getting into the territory of absurdity.

I not with interest that people who argue the case for modern fighters based on their physical advantages, will casually set aside everything they claim to believe, when it is the old timer who has the physical advantage.

If only the old timer has quicks and twitch in this situation. I think Money has a legit chance of stopping Baer, which is why he is universally acknowledged as the GOAT.

Outside of Baer landing a perfect kill shot (Which is very possible) I can see Qawi's ultra aggressive but defensively responsible pressure a big problem for Baer. I mean MAX isn't going to be stopped or even hurt but points are points and raw come forward aggression was Qawi's game.

I'm imaging a prime Qawi bulked up to whatever his most comfortable weight was, probably 190-200 pounds? We have to remember that a bloated, old Qawi was giving Foreman trouble before shitting the bed, making him miss and landing good punches. Make Qawi 10 years younger and that would have been more interesting.

I don't want to push the point. You're probably right. I tend to be a bit flighty when there's no money on the line.
