Smallest Heavyweight That Beats Prime Tyson Fury?

The 60's were overrated in terms of elite heavyweights.

 

Usyk has the same weight, height and reach as Ali, modern cruiserweights are the same size as heavyweights from the 70's.

 

Sir Richard Dunn, the British (1975-1976), European (1976), and Commonwealth (1975-1976) champion was a 70s fighter. When John Graham Chambers developed the Marquess of Queeensberry Rules he had Richard Dunn in mind. Sir Richard might be the most complete boxer of all. There was nothing in tne ring he couldn't do.

 

Cunningham's around the same size as Ali. Ironically Fury was trying to fight like Ali with his hands down while taunting Cunningham and got caught flush. Once he utilized his size advantage and turned it into a dog fight the tide turned.

Man, I would've liked to see that David Haye fight too.

 

Except deal with an 85 inch reach from a fighter twice as quick as him.

It's virtually irrefutable that Sir Richard Dunn had the fastest hands in the history of the heavyweight division, if not every division in the history of boxing.

I remember in the Ali fight how Dunn cleverly faked his knees buckling badly.

Ali just watched expecting Richard to go all the way down and stay down.

Instead, like a Jack In The Box, Dunn came back up and, on the way, he threw a jab at the unsuspecting Ali.

You just don’t see moves like that in the sport anymore. Richard’s boxing IQ was through the roof.

For all his outstanding services to pugilism and otherwise, he should have in fact been knighted.

At least on this forum we have the authority to rightfully dub him so.
