Nathan Cleverly has a degree in mathematics. Also he is not a boxer but I have to mention him, UFC HW Alexander Volkov apparently has a degree in rocket science from a pretty prestigious Russian University.
yeah, he's pretty Clever... Gentleman Jim Billy Soose there must be a good few, who were some of the Bareknuckle Aristocracy, there were a few Sportsmen among them
Not saying he was the smartest but worth noting here that James Smith aka Bonecrusher was the first heavyweight champ with a college degree. (Not 100% sure — anyone know if any world title claimant before him at any weight had a college degree?) I’d also argue that at least as far as handling finances, Larry Holmes had to be up there among the smartest. Invested his money wisely, showed the discipline one would expect of a great boxer in avoiding lavish, stupid spending or bad personal habits like drugs and such, didn’t carry an entourage on his payroll, etc. George Foreman acculturated a lot more wealth, but Big George kinda lucked into a deal-of-the-century endorsement, bought the product rights and then sold them … I believe the deal is Hulk Hogan was offered the grill or a juicer before George and chose the juicer endorsement so they went to George, so if Hogan had picked the grill then Foreman never would have never seen that windfall.
Carlos Palomino I believe, was the first to hold a college degree. When he and Armando Muniz fought, it was the first time two college grads met for a world title.
