    Makes sense. I guess when you fight every few weeks for years it becomes second nature.

    Ha. Even a pocket-sized Duran would have hit harder than Pea and absorbed his best shots.

    They've been mentioned already, but Bernard Hopkins is a brilliant at strategies to take an opponent's main strengths away by studying tendencies.
    Also Carlos Monzon implemented his own imprint on every fight I've seen him involved in...EVERY fight. He ultilized every advantage he had as far as size, length, and style. Very calculating fighter, excellent judge of spacing and timing. Efficient and very smart.

    what a great way of putting it, hopkins wisdom for boxing is so big it seems that he becomes a deffirent fighter each time according to his opponent. the only thing that is the same is his dirty in fighting.

    Smart fighters. Leonard, Tunney, Sugar Ray Lenoard, Ali, Holmes, and Lewis.

    I don't know if I'd consider Ali one of the smartest fighters of all time.

    Smart, yes... But sometimes I feel it was simply pure willpower that let him win his biggest fights.

    Foreman and Frazier III were certainly not genius moves on his part. Strength of will though? Yes.
