Matthew Hatton now could very well be a step down from the corpse of Castillo.

I haven't seen Hatton since Van Heerden beat him and my boxrec search indicates that was his last fight; March 2013.

Provodnikov TKO3, if it happens, which hopefully it will not.

Hatton is your typical Briton. He has an iron chin. Canelo dragged him upto 154 and didn't hurt him.

 

He does have an iron chin against his level of competition.

Lasting the distance against Alvarez and Brook are nice accomplishments for a career-opponent.

I'm trying to remember what his best career victory was... I remember Ben Tackie and Lovemore Ndou. Can't remember who else remotely relevant that Matthew has beaten.

 

Branco was a good win for the EBU title. I think Magic Matthew entered as a fairly big underdog.

I thought he won the event vs. Canelo too, when Canelo dragged him up and didn't make weight himself, if I remember rightfully.

-Right after, a couple weeks before the fight, Canelo vs. Hatton changed to a 154 WBC title fight at 150 catchweight.

-Rumors of Alvarez not making weight. Hatton agrees to deal and the fight limit was changed to 152 pound limit before the weigh in.

That's why I chuckled at the outrage over the 1 pound added weight for Alvarez's fight against Angulo. We had already seen it before just with a much younger Alvarez and the complication of fighting for a vacant title against an unworthy opponent. Oh what short term memories people have.

 

Prov doesn't have a strap.. I don't see what's wrong with him taking tune ups against named fighters who were once good(Castillo) And Hatton is a tough guy, even if he's not a world operator.

Disgraceful if true (especially for someone who takes pride in being a "warrior"), but you're a known bull****er so it's probably false.
