Who cares... Maidana's 3 minutes to try and knock Khan out had already started. Protect yourself at all times.

I have no problem whatsoever with what Maidana did. He was there to decapitate Khan and nothing else. Plenty of time for tapping gloves after the fight.

I have no real interest in a rematch. Don't think Maidana hurting Khan is enough to warrant him getting a return. He needs to earn his shot.

If it wasn't for the knockdown and point taken off it would've been very close on points.

I think a rematch is definitely warranted.

Come on he did more than just hurt Khan. He won about 5 of the rounds as well and definitely did enough to warrant a rematch. I don't think a rematch will happen though but Maidana definitely deserves another top fight at 140 lbs against someone else at least.

Yeah the fight was a outstanding bout, and both boxers went for it all the way, To be fair i was thinking all the way Maidana would put Khan on his ass and finish him, But i will happily admit Khan has proved me wrong and im glad, he boxed a brilliant fight with real quality to his boxing footwork and punches.

Yeah he could improve abit on his defense as he took shots that he did not have to take. Both boxers deserve credit but fair play to Khan. he proved quite a few people wrong.

like i have said in other threads i think Khan now has the potential to take on Floyd at a later date and possible Pacman, with the performance he gave tonight i feel he will stand a good chance.

I just cant see where his chin come from tonight. He had the heart of a lion and gave real courage and everything he had. obviously there will be questions about Khans chin, but we will see. He took hugh shots and performed well.

    Congrats Khan and unlucky Maidana!

big year for Khan in 2011:good

I was disgusted by Maidana's actions in the fight. Khan though was like a kid in there at times. He was looking to touch gloves far to much. Had to laugh when Khan came out in 11th thinking he was in round 12.

No one can question his heart man.....the kid's got heart of a lion but he's thick as pig**** sadly.

What a fight though.....****ing emotional stuff.

Has to be the best £14.95 i ever spent..

Really enjoyable night all round. I got home and did think about maybe just going to sleep as I was very tired, but decided to buy the fight and what a great decision it proved to be! One of the best fights I have ever watched. Khan showed terrific heart, as did Maidana. I thought Khans chin would have improved as he moved up weight, but not that much! He took some huge shots and stood up to them (just!) Id like to see Khan take on the winner of Alexander/Bradley and if he wins that then he should go up to welter.

Also really enjoyed the night at the Echo. Was the first time Iv sat so close to the ring (near the front of the lower tier) and the view was really good. The De Gale fight is the best Iv seen live, from the atmosphere to the sublime performance of a future world champ. The only gripe I had is the Bellew fight should have been on before it as a lot of people had left and missed another great fight.

if we give maidana 1 of the first 6 then we take of his point deduction and a knockdown , does that mean the judges gave all the second half to maidana ?

was wider than the cards for me , maidana won his rounds well and was dominanat but he also lost his rounds convincingly

Would you of gave round 10. 10-8 Maidana?

I can't quite remember when he hurt him in that round but it seemed to go on forever.

After 9 rounds the scores were:

    87-82
    87-82
    88-81

and the scorecards at the end were:

    114-111 (87-82) - Gave a 10-8, scored the 11th (educated guess) for Khan.
    114-111 (88-81) - Gave Maidana the remaining rounds, plus a 10-8 in round 10.
    113-112 (87-82) - Gave Maidana the remaining rounds, plus a 10-8 in round 10.

So yeah, Maidana came on very strong at the end and did get a 10-8 on the judges cards (quite rightly IMO).

Im happy Khan won and it was the most exciting fights I have seen And those last 3 or 4 rounds "wow" what more can I say but our buddy Khan was lucky that Joe Cortez was the ref because anyone else would have stop the fight but I am happy how it ended.

After rewatching and scoring the fight properly, I have it 113-113 even (with it being 113-112 to Khan if you took a point off when Joe Cortez did)

Rnd 1 - 10-8 Khan (10-8 big Khan knockdown, Maidana lucky to be saved by the bell)
Rnd 2 - 10-9 Khan (domination again from Khan. not quite a 10-8 because Maidana wasn't really hurt)
Rnd 3 - 9-10 Maidana (could have been a Khan round but most likely Maidana. Did the better work and turned it to his style fight)
Rnd 4 - 9-10 Maidana (Khan was better than last round but Maidana just landed the better shots and forced the fight again)
Rnd 5 - 10-9 Khan (10-8 possibly with harsh point taken off)
Rnd 6 - 10-9 Khan (Khan outboxes Maidana and lands more shots but Maidana has him hurt and retreating a few times)
Rnd 7 - 9-10 Maidana (best round so far for Maidana. Dominant round constantly backing up Khan)
Rnd 8 - 10-9 Khan (great comeback round for Khan. Won the round easily)
Rnd 9 - 10-9 Khan (another easy round for Khan. Maidana stalking but not landing and getting caught himself)
Rnd 10 - 8-10 Maidana (Khan all over the place for the last 2 minutes and badly hurt)
Rnd 11 - 9-10 Maidana (Maidana dominated mostly but Khan got his legs back)
Rnd 12 - 9-10 Maidana (close and Khan finished stronger but Maidana forced the pace of the round and mostly outlanded)

113-113 even (6 rounds each, two 10-8 rounds either way)

If you were scoring the fight pro-Khan, you could have had it 116-110. Pro-Maidana could have taken it 114-112.

    Khan's clear rounds: 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 9
    Maidana's clear rounds: 7, 10, 11, 12
Close rounds could go either way: 3, 4

Just my opinions of course but I think the judges scorecards were pretty much spot on with Khan deserving the win overall.

Great fight that Khan could've easily won at the end of the first round, where Maidana could have won in the 10th. If it's a 15 rounder then Maidana probably takes it
