Macklin 8-4 Varon

Final round and Macklin is late getting off his stool. Mack keeping on his toes in this round, eager not to be pushed up against the ropes as he was in those tricky middle rounds. In to the final minute Varon catches Macklin with 2 big left hands and Macklin is forced to hold on. Macklin's gumshield falls out and this buys him some time in the corner with just 20 seconds left on the clock. Macklin is clearly hurt but gets on his bike and manages to see out the round. Both fighters celebrate at the final bell but it seems like Macklin will have done enough. Back into the corner, Macklin's right eye is massively swolen, definitely something to consider in future match-ups. Varon certainly not the joke he was referred to by some in the build up to this fight.

widest score Macklin by 6 117-111 dunno if i agree with that. Macklin got beach the hell up and didnt do enough to win by that margin for me.

 

macklin might have just won it but that scoring was terrible.

**** performance from Macklin but I wouldn't go that far. If Varon was a even a half decent fighter he would have laid Macklin out.

 

I had Macklin by 3 with the point deduction.
