I just watched the replay. I had it a draw. Could’ve been 7-5 either way. A lot of swing rounds. I don’t know why people are so emotional. Seems a lot of Brit’s have a disdain for Smith bc of some comments he made. I don’t know what they are nor care. I watched the fight with commentary off. It was very close. If you think that was some all time robbery you’re either crazy biased or haven’t seen enough fights.

That said it DEF wasn’t as wide as the judges had it. Of course that was gonna happen. Unless you’re living under a damn rock. There’s big $ behind Callum with Matchroom. He will probably get a Canelo payday. Ortiz needs a KO tonight to get a draw. Same thing.

That doesn't make it any less frustrating though. Especially when hard working genuine guys such as Ryder turn up in the fight of their life. The crowd were turned off, as are the majority of us at home. I think we could all have accepted a round or two win for Smith, being the champ and home fighter (even though I staunchly think Ryder won), but those cards were insulting towards everybody, including the Smiths and their fans.

Hoping for a fairer outcome tonight, hopefully one not left to inept judges!

Ryder did very well, especially backing Smith up against the ropes so much, he's a strong, tough MF and his stamina is top drawer. It was a close fight and the scorecards IMO were wrong, but no way was it a robbery. 115-113 either way or a draw would have been OK but I edged it to Smith, just thought he showed a bit more class despite looking drained and weaker than usual, especially in the last few rounds.

What I don’t get about the corruption is you don’t even need to make it that obvious. Make it closer so you take away peoples ammunition.

Kind of relieved I didn't see it, because I love Ryder and really kinda dislike Smith as it stands already.. :shakehead:

Probably wouldn't have been great for my blood pressure, watching those anxious moments awaiting the scorecards (and then..)

I implore you to watch it, I love Ryder as much as you do, and even though he was robbed, he put forth a masterpiece of a performance, that's well worth watching, I might even rewatch it myself..

    This !
I thought it was performance of the year by a Brit by a long way. Ryder showed a huge amount of skill, courage and tactical nouse to beat up a much bigger man. Despite what the judges say (probably too busy spending their "earnings" to comment).

    That's exactly what I thought.
I scored wide for Ryder, so when wide scores were read out, I thought it was a given only for it to go the other way

I heard the scorecards being read out, and naively thought at first, "wow, they've actually scored the fight fairly and given Ryder the clear decision", and then they announced Smith as the winner. :duh

Will you be able to? Knowing the outcome, I am too disgusted to ever rewatch that fight
