That's tough. I can't see Smith winning over 12 rounds. Smith would need to stop BJS, and his best chance would be from a body shot I think. I've gone BJS on points, but I wouldn't put money on it. Great 50/50 fight.
I'm not that sold on Smith ability wise, he is good but said before he can't seem to change it up going off past performances, stuck in the Galagher mould. Saying that, Saunders isn't a proper SMW. I know people are saying Smith has to be able to hit Saunders but the opposite is true also. Will saunders be able to land effectively and get out without being caught, since Smith is so tall and big. Saunders would need to fight effectively for an entire fight, under Ingle I'd give him a better chance, now I'm not entirely sure.
On a side note Smith really needs to kick on, I know it's not his fault Saunders and Canelo hold a belt at SMW. It does show you how poor the SMW currently is though that two MWs have two of the belts (Yea I know Canelos is just the WBA Regular but still!) Both of them only went up in weight to win easy titles. He's in risk of ending up like Brook imo, one fight since Groves win and his last fight was against a small MW. Next fight possibly against a career MW. Really if he's that good he should be challenging the LHW guys and moving up if he can't get decent fights against SMWs. I don't think he will though as it's a lot easier to fight smaller fighters then you coming up a weight. I would say bar the Groves fight (shoulder injury and past prime but still a good win) he's been well managed.
Saunders was completely underwhelming against Isufi and was rocked a few times. If Smith catches him like that then it’s lights out. With the size difference and Billy Joe going to have to come in to range to try and get at him I can only see one outcome. Smith TKO round 7.
Smith points - Saunders is slippery / skillful and if hurt will go on the back foot. Really hope this one happens! Unlike when Groves fought Smith, Saunders is in his prime. Defining fight for both
BJS fights to the level of his opposition I don't see anyway Smith can beat him excpept for landing a huge bomb. BJS will box on the run and Smith will run out of ideas come the mid rounds. BJS points for me.
Saunders points for me. Smith is far too slow and rigid to best Saunders. Can't see this happening though. Smith won't take a risk like this.
