    NOVEMBER FIGHT LISTS UP
    + fight added 31st October

Nobody predicted the correct winner for Prizefighter, TFFP shouted it but never stood by it. Only other changes are Fehintola losing therefore everyone gains one loss except dwh103.

Also, I was thinking making this league just for the rest of 2008, i.e. a new league starting up 1st January 2009. I'm not concrete on this, so interested to see what you guys think. It will make October, November and December make or break for us all, and more interesting, and with the champ the one to beat in 09.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Good luck.

As far as the TBA's are concerned, dont predict them, and wait until announcement

I want to reserve judgement on Angulo and the Scot for now until I get around to watching more footage. It's one where I'm thinking about taking a gamble on McEwan looking at the styles and the likelihood of everyone picking the more proven Mexican.

I think McEwan can pull of the upset based on one Angulo fight. Will need to see if he's more versatile than he showed in that one fight.

He's just a less accomplished Margarito clone.

McEwan is going to outbox this cat.

The Black Mamba has arrived in Newark! East Midlands trainer Carl Greaves has just taken on an exciting Super Featherweight prospect from Ghana, Yakubu Amidu.
    This content is protected
Amidu is currently 16-1-1 (16ko), his only loss is to the world rated Ali Funeka (who stopped Zahir Raheem in four rounds) up at lightweight.
He is currently the number one challenger for both the Commonwealth and WBC International titles at 9st 4lbs.
I had the chance to catch up with the affable 23-year-old Yakubu at Carl Greaves Boxing Academy in Newark-on-Trent for an interview. Before the interview I had the opportunity to watch Yak doing some training and was startled at what a workhorse he is. Carl has described him as being 'like a Duracell battery'. His pace was high, intense and alot like Floyd Mayweather, in regards to not taking many breaks. He shadow boxed for around 30 minutes non stop, hit the bags, then after that did a circuit. His chisselled physique is a testament to the hard work he puts in.

At what age did you start boxing?
I started boxing when I was young, I was only ten years old.
What was your amateur career like?
I fought in the amateurs for six years, I was a good amateur. I won a medal in the African championship, I went to the qualifications for the Olympic Games but unfortunately I didn't qualify.
Why did you decide to relocate to the UK?
My manager had a coach for me here so I came over to train with him and to fight here.
How are you finding the UK? Do you like it here?
Yeah I like the UK, it's a nice place and a nice training place. I really like it here.
Do you notice much difference in training regimes or the gym set up compared to the ones in Ghana?
Yes, the gyms here are very good, the ones in Ghana are very bad, not much equipment. You have all the equipment here, I think I'm going to be much better here.
What do you want to achieve in boxing?
    World champion!
Since your life here is centered around training, what's an average day like for you?
I train twice a day, in the morning and the evening then go to bed. I run in the morning then train with my coach in the evening, sometimes the other way around. I do that five days a week, I run on the Saturday morning then rest on Sunday.
What sort of things do you like to do to relax?
Sometimes I like to be in my room, I relax in my bed and I like to pray too.
Who are your heroes in boxing?
I've got two heroes, Floyd Mayweather Jr and Roy Jones Jr.
How would you describe your style of fighting?
Sometimes I like to move, sometimes I like to pressure, it depends on the fight. I see how I feel in the ring and my opponent then I put it on my style. I keep my hands up all the time.
How's the training been going since you've arrived, have you adjusted well?
Yeah, training's been going very well, it's very physical, a lot of pad work, bag work. We can do different things here, training in Ghana is more natural because there is no equipment. I'm getting stronger here, it's better

    :lol::yep

Im always not so eager to post up my predictions until everyone else has or day before as too not have too many copiers. Wish there was a system were all predictions were in, but anyone else couldnt see them.

That Amidu chap is dangerous, the problem with predicting against guys from Africa we are not familiar with is they could end up being pretty damn good.

    Its dangerous.

i always find it hard not to pick the british fighter in an international contest. plus i don't know anything about angulo.
