No it's not a case of that ,it's just saying just because a fighter didn't get a great win doesn't mean in another era he couldn't . Based on record s alone u can't say for sure . Look at Henry Cooper before he faced Ali . Did his record give any indication he'd end up ALMOST koin g one of the most durable chin s in history ?

    Ali went 2-0 against Cooper.

Yep aware of that , but not my point . Just because someone s record is nt all that , doesn't mean their incapable of pulling of an upset .
Floyd was a lot greater fighter than Bert ,no question about it but put him in with a motivated ,fit Cooper then I wouldn't count him out .Ask Mr Ruiz jnr !

Patterson had sublime skills and speed and but once hit like Terry Norris and Holyfield he
found himself in fierce fire fights. Cooper nails Patterson who has to survive a knockdown
or two to rally and stop Cooper in 10 rds .

One notable difference is that Ruiz was already a solid contender and showed the makings of a guy who might get a belt at some point, whereas Bert Cooper's career had all the signs of a journeyman's career.
