Dear Friends kind regards I was watching a documentary on the Thriller in Manila last night in which Joe Frazier looked at the match and gave commentary on the toughest match of his career against Muhammad Ali. It was revealed in this documentary that Ali wanted to quit at the beginning of round 15 but his corner refused to allow it, Eddie Futch went against Frazier and threw in the towel. Ironically Ali's corner saved him from losing and Frazier's corner ultimately cost him the match. After the match, Ali apologized to Marvis Frazier (Joe's son) for the insults that he said about Joe. Joe Frazier took insults such as these featured in the video below very seriously. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6QbsB3UpiI[/ame] One thing that dissapointed me is the fact that Frazier still holds a pathetic grudge against Muhammad Ali. He seems to take credit for giving Muhammad Ali parkinsons disease and takes endless cheap shots at his conditions. What are your views on Joe Frazier's attitude? If you could give me your views I'd appreciate it. yours thankfully John
Sometimes an apology isn't good enough. Frazier took some **** from Ali and its up to him if he forgives him for it So yes, Smoking Joe Frazier is moral
I smoke on the mic like smokin Joe Frazier The hell raiser, raisin hell with the flavor Terrorize the jam like troops in Pakistan Swingin through your town like your neighborhood Spiiiiiderman Seriously though, what does moral mean. Is it immoral to have bad blood against your rival that called you a ****ing gorilla? And made you side with the establishment in some media cultural war? Ali clearly started all of it. Frazier wasn't characterized by dick statements to any other fighters. Hell i even recently saw an Ali documentary where he praised him, quite a bit actually. And foreman gave ali DP.
Joe Frazier has a right to hold a grudge! He was willing to die in that ring to get Ali! Too bad his limited boxing skills let him down... Left hook left hook left hook............14 rds later yeap u guessed it! Left hook!
at frazier's skills being limited. He was incredibly good at applying constant pressure and cutting the ring very well, a great swarmer and champion in his own right. Frazier made ali miss with more jabs than any other fighter he faced, period. He was also a very powerful body puncher. He did rely on his left hook. That's because it was a ****ing destructive punch. People described it as "the best left hook since dempsey". High praise. Ali wasn't a particularly skilled technician himself, he relied on his jab, footwork and speed to get himself the majority of his wins, not any inspiring boxing skills. Look at what happened what anyone got past his jab like foreman, norton, and frazier did. He had no inside game or body punching whatsoever, so let's not accuse frazier of being a limited fighter in the same breath.
I don't know how you can question Joe Frazier's morals when Ali not only disrespected almost all of his opponents, but degraded them. In the case of Frazier, he called him an animal and a traitor to his own kind which couldn't have been more wrong. In the documentary it states Ali never held a job, had boxing his whole life. Joe on the other hand worked his ass off from when he was real young. Frazier never had to resort to Ali's bad-mouthing style outside the ring, because he was above that. Accodring to most people, Ali gets a pass on everything because he was the self-proclaimed "greatest", don't matter who this guy wrongs or what he does no one will ever hold it against him. Don't judge someone unless you've walked in their shoes.
Dear Friends kind regards Here is a promotional video of the documentary that I watched last night. Ali took it too far. Frazier shouldn't be boasting about giving him Parkinson's and **** though, that's pretty low. And Futch didn't cost Frazier the fight. I'm a huge Frazier fan, but there is no way Ali would have stayed on his stall and not come out for round 15. You are probably the last person on earth to watch Thrilla In Manilla by the way.
I never got that whole "traitor to his race" deal from Ali. Who did Ali have in his corner? Ferdie Pacheco-White and ****ing stupid Angelo Dundee-White Bundini Brown-Black and Jewish who also pawned Ali's belt for $500
Joe has a right to hold a grudge after some of the things Ali said in the build up to their fight but some of the things he says about Ali now are equally horrible even after all these years.
You have no idea what is must have felt like to be a black american back then and be called an Uncle Tom Ali went over the top with his insults and he ridiculed and berated Fraser consistently throughout their carrears If Fraser still holds resentment towards Ali, fair enough. He took so much abuse from him no wonder he is taking cheap shots at his condition Now Im not saying that that is right, in fact, I would love Fraser to turn around and say "all is forgiven" But Ali never took time out to apologise to Joe, he went over the top and never looked back and reflected on how badly he behaved towards Joe Its not a pathetic grudge, Joe was treated as a gate figure in America because of all the **** Ali sent his way. If he still holds resentment towards him, thats fair enough You will never know how Joe fraser felt, so for you to start a thread saying how pathetic Joe was is bulls**t
