Ali was an A-hole for his behavior and there were some unintended casualties along the way. Frazier's kids were getting beat up @ school as a result of Ali's promotion. Still, Frazier's bitterness after 35 + years is a disease of it's own. I'd like to say get over it Joe, but it's unrealistic after 35 years.

Joe has all the right to be still ticked with Ali. Back in the 70's being called a Uncle Tom was prob the worst thing to call someone. Joe family too a whole lot of **** from from that crap that Ali pulled. Hell as many put it.....Joe life was hell. So if he wants to be bitter then go for it...you have the right Joe.

It's up to him whether he wants to accept the apology or not

Actually I watched another documentary last night called "Facing Ali" where Frazier seems to express remorse and actually choke up when he talks about Ali's medical condition. It was surprising, because like you, I had heard about all the bitter things he'd said over the years. It seems as if Frazier's feelings about Ali are not as one-dimensional as is often portrayed.

as Frazier said his son afterwards "why didn't he say sorry to me? He was big enough to say all those things when we were face to face"

Frazier was too sensitive. Ali was just being Ali and Frazier should have just took it.

Did Valuev cry when Haye called him ugly? Grow the **** up. Joe was a tough fighter but when it came to this stuff he was soft.

This documentary showed the jaded sides of both Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier instead of always creating an illusion of their supposed greatness.
Muhammad Ali made a complete mockery of his marriage during his time in Manila.
Also this documentary highlighted the fact that Frazier was boxing with partial blindness in his left eye.
All in all this was a very revealing and insightful documentary.
    yours thankfully

    Dear Zakman
    kind regards
I can only imagine that Joe Frazier's own head must be scrambled due to the many shots that he took in his career.
I remember reading in September 1996 an article where Frazier stated his hatred of Ali and in November 1996 he offered Ali an olive branch.
Thomas Hauser is basically right when he says that Frazier expresses forgiving sentiments towards Ali one day and then despises him the next.
Its so ridiculous that one wonders whether they can take Frazier seriously anymore.
    yours thankfully

im sure he may have been able to move on but when his kids were coming home crying because kids were harassing them because of what Ali was saying, it becomes a whole different ball game

After watching the documentary, I think frazier has a right to still hold a grudge against Ali. Ali was a complete **** to him.

But I think Frazier took it too far, saying he should be pushed into the olympic fire and **** like that. Some things are best left unsaid.

At this point, Frazier's hatred isn't even rational anymore. It's an obsession. If Holyfield can forgive Tyson for removing half of his ear then certainly Frazier is capable of forgiving Ali for the irresponsible things he said. Regardless, Frazier is an ATG HW. You'd have to be an utter imbecile to think otherwise.
