If its being covered already, apologizes. How would this match up have gone if it had taken place in the early 90 s ?

Morrison edges it out. Little tougher and better punch variation.

I'd like to have seen this match up back in the day .They had a few common opponents .The Cooper that faced mercer verse Tommy ,would have being a good one. But I think Morrison wins through.

I think the best version of Bert Cooper beats Morrison by TKO. Cooper would take some punishment and probably climb off the canvas. Morrison wouldn't be able to handle the pressure especially mentally when he sees that simple ASS grin on Cooper's face round after round.

Morrison tended to lose power after the opening rounds. Cooper had a sneaky attack. He developed that inside right hand and that would end this fight.

The only way Morrison beats Bert Cooper is if they pick Bert up outside the Crackhouse and drive him to the fight from there. Or maybe a hometown stoppage for the Duke.

    Cooper TKO 6

I think Morrison cracks that chin with a right uppercut - left hook combo.
Cooper was tough with a good chin, but not quite like Mercer.

You'd have to favour Morrison, but Cooper was no mug and he'd definitely have a shot. He could, at his best, take a whallop and dish one back too. His fight with Mercer was ****ing brutal. That version of Cooper would have a decent chance against many heavies.

I think Morrison could stop him but Cooper is a dangerous warrior would have been a good fight

    Bump.
I’d pick Morrison because he had more tools, better punch selection, bigger, faster, better feet and better fundamentals, although he didn’t make the most of his height and reach when he had it. Morrison would probably try to force Cooper to commit and try timing him whilst pulling away and maybe countering Cooper in mid range when he misses, throwing the jab, not to keep him on the end of it, but to try and force mistakes from Cooper to give him counter punching opportunities. This fight is dangerous for Morrison because he couldn’t keep his punches long, so like I said, he’d have to force mistakes from Cooper and capitalise on mid range, which even with the better skill, he’s still within Cooper’s range.
If you want a matchup not to bet on, this is it.

I see this as being an action packed fight. Two guys with fast hands and lot of power who likes to brawl. Not sure who takes it but I’m thinking it doesn’t go past five or six

You'd be a fool to bet on this one unless you had insider info on hard either was partying.

I'm thinking Tommy takes this. He'll hit Bert more often and in more places than Bert hits him. He might get off the canvas to do it, but he'll stop Bert within 6 rounds...

Don’t forget his savage affairs with Holyfield & Moorer. I’m with the bulk of the crowd here in picking Morrison - but Cooper is live.
