Herol 'Bomber' Graham - possibly the finest fighter never to win a world title Jack Johnson (the heavyweight boxer not the lightweight musician!) - pure slick defence, hardly anybody could touch him at his peak PBF - if this thread's purely about style then he's gotta feature
I agree. Nas is often judged only on the very last part of his career - but it was clear that he started going off the rails as soon as he had won his first title at 21 - it was pretty much downhill from there!
Napoles his nickname was butter because his style was so smooth, i always felt De Jesus was very smooth too.
Fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee. He moves smoothly and his punches doesn't look hard at all. Then his opponents go down. He is indeed a graceful boxer.
One i have been watching lately on youtube since i was too young to watch is Ricardo Lopez. That guy is just textbook. Its like he wrote the "Advanced Boxing Manual" Everything is done perfectly. Oh yea and the greatest ever Gerry Penalosa!! HAHAHAH
I add Pernell and Benitez to my list also. And I was serious about Kessler, he doesn't showboat or waste movement, but he is near perfect technically. You will never see awkward movement from Kessler, every action is fluid and sets up the following action. Smooth isn't always flashy.
Excellent list..... I would like to add Floyd Patterson Camacho Current fighters: Dawson, Floyd, Calderon, Mijares......
