-Jack has gone to 175 to get starched
-Groves (is a talent) but can't stop losing
-Degale is convincing in spurts but should really be on Jeremy Kyle asking for a DNA test
-Callum Smith of the brothers grim (going on family form) may never even get past Euro level
-Ramirez looks the standout but beating an over the hill goompa loompa who has had more close scrapes than a lip stick wearing/hand cuffed OJ Simpson in D wing recently isn't proof of much!
-Jesse Hart? Who? Any relation to Bret?
-Tyron Zeuge? A boom by ay...
-Fedor Chudinov? Russian for Wrigley's peppermint chewing gum

    Smw is "becoming" a wasteland?
Smw has been a dumpster for a long time. When any division has froch vs groves as its best to offer you know for a fact the division is absolute garbage

its been in and out, but on the rise slowly since its inception. Some of its early stars might have been much less if forced into other divisions, apart from guys who transcended the divisions like roy jones, toney etc moving up and beating primes in other divisions.

Cruiser has been slowly developing but still remains a division of bums for whom few wouldhave made it in other divisions.

froch vs groves is a fair highlight, 80,000 at wembley.

Just wait until the corrupt WBC takes Badou Jack's belt to put it on the line for at the Canelo-Chavez Jr. fight. From that point, Canelo will do the same thing he did at middleweight: defending his 168 pounds belt at a Canelo weight.

    I wouldn't be surprise a bit.

With Ward, Cleverly and Jack moving to LHW, the SMW division is now as devoid of talent as the MW division.
Since his next fight is 164.5, maybe Canelo will jump straight to SMW.

168 was already one of the weaker divisions out there and with Jack leaving it's going to get even worse. Jack isn't great but he's solid and one of the top 2-3 guys there.

DeGale and Groves are talented but inconsistent. Dirrell is good but nothing special and Ramirez is highly rated but I'm not personally sold on him yet. Those probably make up the top 4 guys at 168 now.

Rest of the division seems made up of past prime champions-Abraham, Sturm ,Andre Dirrell or guys who are solid just not top of the divison kind of fighters- Chudinov, Love, Murray, Uzcatigai, etc. Maybe Smith can stand out in time, we'll see.

GGG should be holding both middleweight and SMW titles simultaneously since they are both in such decrepit shape...

    It´s a filler division.
All these jr and super divisions are dividing the top talent. Imagine the LHW division if the Dirrell bros, Jack and DeGeale moved up. It would be a lot more fun.
Guys like Cleverly and Shabranskyy would not come close to getting a top 10 ranking.

At 105, boxrec barely registers 300 active fighters. And most who win titles there, move up.
Same at 140. Most top contender eventually move to 147.
Ring Magazines lists 5 fighters at 147, who came from a lower division. Heck, Shawn Porter moved down in weight.
