Would you recommend Calzaghe coming out of retirement for this?

I think he has the beating of all of them even now. Only person who could beat him is the man he already beat, Kessler.

The money is massive, his legacy would be enhanced by a great amount.

I think he should be pleading to replace one of the people on the list.

(Only question, can he make weight?)

If that tournament goes to plan (big 'if' IMHO) the last fight will probably be scheduled for sometime in late 2011/ early 2012. I can't see Calzaghe wanting sign up for something over that timespan and lose control over the selection of his opponents in the process.

Well he said he wouldn't ever make SM again after the Kessler fight. Also, from JC's point of view what's the point? A rematch with Kessler (something he said he's not interested in) and helping Froch get a payday. Add to that the fact that he'd be fighting people not on his radar if he were to return, which he won't, then I think it's a resounding no. IMO, the SM division doesn't need Calzaghe anymore- if he hadn't retired we wouldn't be talking about this tournament!

He needs to stay retired... there is no one to really add to his legacy his legacy is as perfect as a fighter of his ability could manage. Froch-Calzaghe is mildly interesting but I don't think Froch would win if he did, the damage to Calzaghe's legacy would be really bad.

Why would he want to get involved in a tournament fighting Andre Ward, Arthur Abraham, Carl Froch or Mikkel Kessler who he's already fought?

He could fight the winner, that would make more sense. Problem is that is a long way down the line, Calzaghe will be going on 40. I don't think his style will fair well after inactivity.

If he actually had a decent trainer, yeah.

He won't come back for this but, if anything, he should take on the winner. That would add a lot to his resume, not just the calibre of the opponent but also given Calzaghe's age, layoff etc.

Is that true? I don't know how this will work then if that's the case. All the various promoter deals must go out the window and someone just picks up a feed from Showtime.
