Boxing on a Sat afternoon. Good price compared to most ppvs. Abraham and Kessler both on the card. A lot to like about this being on ppv. Its just the 2 main fights aren't very good looking fights. Both the stars win big so it depends on whats the other fights being showed if there are any others. I'm undecided but tempted.
I definetly want to watch this one but i dont think i will pay for it. Pavlik vs Abraham(barring both win there next fights)maybe.
If he does.... then bravo to Angulo by fighting legit opposition. Tsurkan's got a beard, drive and a couple of fists that he likes to throw regularly. A win for Angulo over Tsurkan, for me, is more impressive than any of the wins Kirkland or Gamboa have racked up so far. Especially if he pulls it off in 5. I like Angulo, but I'm not that optimistic. Tsurkan can take a punch and can keep his cool (as seen in his fight with the frustratingly unwilling to exchange Yuri Foreman). Tsurkan lost, but kept focused. Even in his big exchanges with the punchy Feliciano, Tsurkan could get landed on but still throw his shots with a nice amount of precision.
I could be wrong, but I just don't see Pavlik being interested in fighting Abraham. Abraham can counter well and he has alot of 1 punch power - Pavlik wears a guy down & Abraham doesn't need to do that. I think Pavlik's viewing the thing with Abraham being a legit threat. Pavlik has good recovery abilities from getting dropped (especially with Zuniga). But Abraham seems quite able to keep putting a guy down (opposed to Zuniga and Taylor). Abraham is still pretty unknown over here in the States. Raul Marquez is a guy who is very much liked in the States. He always comes to fight and is coming off of a big win over an undefeated prospect. If Abraham can put Marquez down and keep him down then the pressure on Pavlik increases 10-fold to fight Abraham.
Pavlik has damn good reason to consider Abraham a legit threat: he is! lol. Abraham is the smartest fighter he's fought up till now, and surely the hardest hitting. He'll put up that guard and wait for Pavlik to make a mistake. And as good as Pavlik's offense may be, his defense is less than flawless. If the odds were right, I'd put $ on Abraham to pull of a spectacular upset.
Completely agree with you. Regarding 1 punch power, intelligence, and toughness (the guy fought 8 freakin rounds with a broken jaw) Abraham poses a threat to anyone in middle and super middle.
No where in there did you mention speed, skills or stamina. I like Abraham, but I think you may be overstating his ability just a tad. I don't rate Pavlik as highly as some others, and thus Abraham would have a solid chance, but if he makes the mistake of moving up to 168, there are several guys with skills and defense who could ward off his sporadic, lunging attacks. Guys like Abraham don't typically become elite PfP fighters. They'll get a great KO win, then lose to a lesser boxer who understands how to approach them.
Abraham who cares? I do not watch a fight of a man, who stands in court because of sexual harassment at Oct. 14 and 16.
Would have rather it been picked up by Versus, but this isn't a bad alternative. At least it gives us Americans the option of watching it live for a few bucks, opposed to watching shitty streams online.
It's gonna be in Berlin, Germany... ARD is airing it free if you have it, maybe they'll have it on a web stream as well. According to Rafael it will be aired on Integrated Sports pay-per-view for $24.95 in the US... I think Marquez will put up an exciting fight before the slow starter King Arthur Abraham absolutely brutally knocks his head off... let's say KO7...
