Would any of you guys drop him in your p4p rankings due to underwhelming performances even though he won both fights? Or do you have a fighter maintain his status with a victory no matter what?

He has been riding the wave of his victory over Pavlik. It was a great and impresive victory. However that wave is about to hit the shore.

I dunno why you call his victories underwhelming. Hopkins victories have always been underwhelming. He's always fought like that. I don't know what people were expecting.

I thought it was foolish when people were saying Hopkins was gonna knock Jones out, because that's just not Hopkins style to fight that way.

And lets be honest, the last fight sucked also because Roy did absolutely nothing the entire fight. At least Hopkins pressed the action a bit. But those styles were never going to look good together, and the fight was pointless anyway since Roy was shot.

I'm calling them underwhelming in relation to the status he's given in most p4p lists. A lot of websites have him as a top 3 p4p boxer. Yet, when he beat Enrique Ornelas(who usually fights at 160 I believe) in Philly, though the scores were wide, the margin of victory was much slimmer to most. And we saw (or read about) the Jones fight last night. Though he always fights this way, it doesn't exactly seem to be congruent with what you would expect from a top 3 p4per.

I didn't find the Pavlik fight underwhelming. Though there was an instance where I thought he would knock Pavlik out, I thought it was a great fight and the right time for Hopkins to retire.

The guy's stamina is **** as proved in the Jones fight I don't think he can handle 12 rounds without taking breathers anymore. Young lions like Dawson & Haye would crush him and I doubt he proves me wrong.

There is no justification whatsoever for keeping B-Hop in the p4p rankings any longer. I'm a massive Hopkins fan, but in the last 18 months he has outpointed a journeyman and then failed to stop the most shot active fighter on the planet. That automatically rules him out of the p4p stakes in my eyes, the p4p rankings are for fighters who are putting their balls on the line and beating the best out there. B-Hop isn't doing that anymore, he's got to go, simple as that.

I thought he didn't belong after losing twice to Jermaine Taylor, victories over Pavlik and Tarver notwithstanding.

I wouldn't have him in my Top 5.

One of the worst fights I have ever seen (and that's saying something). On par with any Billy Dib fight (that's how bad it was).

Amazing how shot Jones is. Just cannot pull the trigger anymore. I just pray the guy hangs em up. As for Hopkins wanting David Haye for the HW title, he cannot be serious. If Hopkins takes one of the 1-2 combinations the Haymaker unleashed on Ruiz, I would fear for his life. Seriously.
