So after JMM vs Pac, IMHO, it's good that Pac didn't face Gayweather...

So I'm a bit late to the party... But after watching the Marquez vs Pac fight, I think it was a very good thing that Pac wasn't fighting Mayweather that night... I mean, just size-wise, May was bigger than Marquez, longer reach, and eventhough I'd have put my money on Pac then, now it would be a much different story.... If size wasn't an advantage it would be one thing, but with the size difference, I don't see Pac winning...

The really bad move seems to me that May didn't fight Pac before. Ok, he was scared, but after the JMM v P fight, I don't see May losing a fight against that Pac...

Article stumbled on while looking for reach of fightesr: http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/box/news?slug=ycn-10438661
I hate to say it, but just because of the size difference, I'd have to say Mayweather wins. If they were the same size I'd probably pick Pac again, but given that he's the smaller guy, and how off he seemed vs Marquez, I'm somewhat happy for him that the fight never happened. I'd hate to see him lose vs Gayweather... After this Marquez fight, which I thought he'd dominate, I seriously have to reconsider my position that he'd beat Mayweather... :think :|

No ****. You should feel dumb for both a) finally drawing this conclusion, and b) mentioning size SO much. You knew exactly about the size difference before Pac/JMM III, it has nothing to do with that and only has to do with Mayweathers' skill and Pacquiaos' lackluster performance.

Mayweather UD no matter what year they would have met in the ring.

    Another victory by proxy thread?

Do *****s even know that the one who fought PAC is jmm and not gayweather. Otherwise, we could all make A beats B, B beats C therefore, A beats C.

No, at the contrary... When faced with evidence I have no choice to do so...

What? First of all, Mayweather didn't fight the same Marquez that Pac fought... You could say he was the same fighter, but my guess is that the way he gained the weight for both fights was very different. JMM had to gain a lot of weight vs May, not so much vs Pac. May probably beats Pac's JMM, but mainly because he's bigger & because of the styles.

Also, May was bigger than Marquez, Pac wasn't bigger than Marquez. SAying weight and size has nothing to do with it is moronic. If Pac was as big as Mayweather, i'm sure it would have been a different fight. And if Pac was bigger than May, then again, It would make a huge difference in a fight between Pac and gay...

Can't disagree now, but like I said, mostly because of the size difference. Both are top level athletes, Pac can beat bigger guys, but vs Mayflower, the size difference combined with the skill of May would probably be too much. (Pac wasn't very impressive this last fight... I had him losing.. :( )

Reverse the position though, and make Pac bigger than May, and IMHO Pac would win it, but Pac being the smaller guy... Hmm... Eventhough I had him winning earlier, I don't now, after seeing the Marquez fight.

so what's the general idea of Pac vs May after the JMM fight? Just curious... (and bit unwilling to go through dozen threads just to get the jist of it..) thanks!

Gayweather is no Marquez...different fight. We won't know if PAC will win or lose but to judge the fight by PAC vs Marquez 3 is kinda dumb. That's just like PAC would whoop Marquez in 6 this time but it was much tuffer.
