Hunter hasn't boxed anyone with a pulse since he was lucky to earn a draw against Povetkin five years ago. Five years! You have to be joking me. That's like putting Ronaldo at the top of the Ballon d'Or shortlist or Roger Federer in the top three of the tennis world rankings (I'm not comparing Hunter to these legends, I'm drawing attention to how ridiculous it would be to consider him anywhere near the top of the heavyweight mix.

    Boxrec have Hunter at #9.

A draw with Povertin 5 years ago, and a win over Bakole 6 years ago. Granted it's not much and it's not enough to reach my personal top 10, but it's better than someone who has never done anything at that level, which covers a lot of boxers in that 10-30 range.

Sports rankings are always based on the here and now, not half a decade ago. Get real!

    No problem :)

He might have done. You could replace him with Hrgovic maybe but I like his past work which just keeps him in for me.

My first thought was that Fury should be higher, but since he hasn't had a decent win in almost two years you do have a point. Hunter is the second choice that surprised me. Haven't really kept tabs on him of late, what has he done?

And, yes, I agree that it's a good division. Some good fighters and good match-ups since several of them really only know how to come forward.

Yes. That's what I'm saying. Hrgovic in for Hunter. (Not Hunter in for Hrgovic)

    Based on what though ?

Most of the top 10 here have fought multiple top 10/20 fighters

Fury has fought 1 in Usyk and lost.

Yes he fought wilder 3 times but as most suspected wilder was a massively overhyped bum that never beat anyone and never belonged in a top 10 list.

If you look how fury struggled with ngannou and wallin It's easy to see him losing to any of the top 10.

Based on his performance against Usyk. That motivated Fury rolls the rest of the world. That isn't some outlandish thing to say, he would be the betting favorite against anyone, it would be close odds against AJ but that is it.

You are late to the argument. Nothing ridiculous about it. He beat Chaney, earned a #3 rank from the WBA, was discussed for an eliminator that did not come off, and will probably rematch Bakole.

But you think it is "ridiculous" to rate him over Hrgovic, who suffered a catastrophic, possibly career-threatening loss?
