    Damnnnn.
He prepared like he was going to fight superman, the hulk, Hercules.
You expected him to destroy his opponent after that monstrous training camp he had. But no, instead he...

Omg how boring. If he had only half of his preparations it would have been enough to do what he did:patsch Not even, a quarter!
What a shame. This definately says something about the heart he has, scared *****.

NB.: yes I know he won, yes he might be nice person. But common now. This is just ridiculous.

I agree that was very lame.

Anybody who takes pride in that kind of performance is simply a nuthugger.

his performance wasnt great but he trined to win and what he got was a win! so all his training did pay off , i agree it was a boring fight but to question to weather wlads training intensity is to blame for the fight is quite ridiculs to say especially how he won the fight! people train to win! they dont train to go out there to impress like a journeyman does he trained to win which in this case was the unifed heavyweight! so wlads trainings "like a beast" was worth it!

    Good post, yes.

    A win is a win.

And seeing as how Wlad has destroyed Austin, Byrd, Brock, etc, all in the recent past, can't the guy be allowed to have a mere dominating decision win, once in a while?

Good GOD, cut the guy a break. EVERY fight can't be an explosive KO. :-(

A dominating decision win is a WIN, period. He's gave us enough highlight reel KOs in the recent past to keep anyone from complaining when he merely wins with a dominating decision........right?

yea i agree! now evreybody is treating wlad like he is this clown on the heavyweight throne only because of this fight they really cant call themselves fans if they belive that wlad is capable of delivering an explosive ko evreyfight! in my opinion wlad just wanted the win who was he out to impress?

i think you are missing the point... he wouldnt have to train like a beast if all he is going to do is jab/grab to a boreing decision.

    A. dominating is not the word for wlad. or for the fight last night.

    B. EVERY fight cant be explosive. but i would like to think EVERY fight wouldnt be a bore.

He has all the tools to be great. so sorry if im disappointed that he fights twice a year... and gives us this jab/grab crap against hand picked opponents.

Who was he out to impress.... uh maybe us the fans. or as you would say we, us so-called fans of boxing. old Tito came from a loss and a long lay-off to earn big ppv money against old Jones. As long as Wlad (the consensus #1) keeps doing more of the same... the so-called fans wont watch him or the HW's, esp PPV.

last night should have been on espn or versus. :tired

A heavyweight who has won 90% of his fights by KO and who has only gone 12 rounds on three occasions in a 53 fight career spanning 12 years, who starts unifiying the division but looks boring against a tentative counterpunching southpaw with a good chin? Forgive me if I don't mind if he gets the job done without an impressive KO once in a while, give the guy a break.

If you didn't appreciate lastnights performance of a systematic breakdown, you only like boxing for the KO's and have zero understanding of Hit and Dont be hit.

So the KO didn't come. So Iggy has a very good chin. Iggy's style is a little ummm, weird. It's ok if a guy that has 44 KO's out of 50 wins doesn't KO his advesary every fight, come on, Give the man a break.

There is a huge difference from the way Wlad was technical vs how Mayweather is: Wlad came forward the whole fight, almost ran across the ring to be "right there". When Iggy lunged he moved...but was right back in Iggy's face.

Iggy's been decked by Austin and Friday Ahunanya. Hardly a 'very good' chin.

Not like it got tested out much last night anyway, three-quarters of the punches he took were jabs.

And as I've said in other threads, I think the increasing criticism of Wladimir has come about because of the increased spotlight, ESB (and other) hype and media profile of this fight. Of all the recent fights where Wladimir needed to look like a fire-breathing monster, it was this one. Inside it was tepid and uneventful, if technically one-sided.

Spooky...How do you rate Lennox Lewis? 3rd, 4th, 5th greatest heavyweight of all time? He had a few boring fights himself. He had the tools, same as Wlad to be dominate in every fight. Sometimes superb fighters see something that makes them causious. Give the man a break. He trained hard, has all the tools to be explosive, didn't deliver but totally Dominated a very good opponent with 1 Arm. If you can't appreicate that, you really do not like all aspects of boxing.

He totally dominated the fight with his jab. He landed it at will, and almost landed the right hand with the same accuracy.

    He fought the perfect fight.

Or are you of the mindset that a boxer should just let themselves get hit for no reason?

    Now...

Yes he won and it did payed off but we expected so much more. So it was disapointing. I am not a hater, his personality is more then ok.
