Easy work. If Cotto does anything less its a step a back.

yeh me too. i thought cotto would go after paul williams, or even kirmit cintron to unfiy the belts. but **** it. i guess we'll have to watch gomez get dat ass whooped. cotto needs to really go after a top fighter after this fight. if he takes the belts from cintron and williams. mayweather would have almost no choice but to fight him.

    his chin
    his relentless approach
the fact that he's fought super middleweights and they didnt even put a dent in him
    his heart
his die in the ring attitude

well, it's a stay busy fight....

    oscar dont want none

    floyd dont want none

    margo is fighting zab

    quintana is fighting paul

kermit is still kind of hurt..choosing to fight him is a risk in itself cause you never know if kermit will pull out

Kermit openly offered a fight to Cotto but Arum would only do it if Cintron would vacate, instead of allowing them to unify and Clottey to fight the winner (Clottey is Cintrons mando, due anytime this year). Instead Arum set up Cotto-Gomez, Judah-Margo. Then the winners face off.

i know, but kermit is still hurt right now.....he just got cleared to train....and that is a risk alone....
kermit has been known to pull out of fights...or get hurt easy...

I've been saying that Gomez will make this a fight since I heard it announced. I really don't think people should sleep on this dude. He is skilled, tough and has a good chin. He doesn't make very much mistakes and throws good, tight punches. He's also MUCH bigger then Cotto. Cotto will win, but it won't be an easy night :deal

I'll tell you what scares me about him. He won't back up against Cotto. He will be there and counter him. He doesn't have the biggest punch......but he's accurate and naturally bigger and stronger (most likely). The guy stood toe-to-toe with Manfredo at 160lbs.....take that as you will, but it speaks for his natural size, strength and toughness even iff Manfredo is a couple of classes below Cotto. Cotto has been stunned at least against Judah, Mosley, Torrez and Chop Chop. I believe Gomez hits just as hard as those guys. Cotto won't be able to bully him and for once he will be getting good body shots fired right back at him. :deal

you see, this is what i'm scared of...

cotto not preparing himself right and coming in at 70percent (even though he dont strike me like the type of fighters that take anyfight lightly), while gomez, who might not ever get another chance like this prepares 100percent......

gomez 100percent can be better than cotto's 70percent if he plays his cards right.....

Im not sure about this fight. It could really be dangerous for Gomez' health...I mean those two aren't in the same class and this is a big mismatch IMO.
